So glad we got that bye week out of the way. I am jonesing for some Texas football. Hopefully, everyone who wasn't out for the year was able to heal up for the ou game this week. Ou deserves everything they get this Saturday. lol

I'll give the sooners this, they do have a very good defense. They held the high-flying Tennessee offense to 25 points two weeks ago. They are legit. However, I think this equals out with our OL, whom are performing at a top level right now. Where the mismatch shows up is in the passing game where our WR room is way more talented than their secondary. If we cna get protection, we should find success through the air.

To break their soul and spirit, we simply have to run the ball and do so effectively. We do not want to be one dimensional in this one. Ou will just pin their ears back if we're passing every down.

IMO, this needs to be a statement game. We lost to this bunch last year and shouldn't have. The Longhorn Nation is tired of losing to Ou. That frustration needs to translate to dominance this year.

Offensively, they do not have the horses to keep up. This will be fatal to the sooners. The new young qb will be dealingi with fastest defense he's seen yet.

Texas wins and f ou

Elsewhere, Ohio State and Oregon will settle things on the field this weekend in a battle of undefeateds. Ole Miss and LSU meet for what should be a dandy. When I browse the list of games, below. I see very few that are gimmes. So log your predictions carefully my friends.

By the way, we'll have college football televised on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week, in addition to Saturday.

Should be a great week of football.

Arizona State - No Rising, no winning. Backup is a turnover machine. I'm taking the home dog.

Georgia Tech - should be the Mack Brown farewell tour

Penn Stata - could be one of those Big 10 1 loss teams at the end, but need to get past their jet lag.

Pitt - undefeated and squeaking by any team with a pulse. Cal lost to Fla St. I'm giving Pitt the edge.

Oregon - winner is in the drivers seat for the Big 10 title, loser is another Big 10 1 loss team at the end. Home dog please.

Ole Miss - loser stays home for the playoffs, winner has a lot of work to make it. Kelly should have stayed at ND if he wanted to make the playoffs.

Kentucky - can Vandy do it again?!? Naaaaah.

Kansas State - technically both teams are still in the conference title, but the Wildcats give the Buffs a wake up call.

Iowa State - Mountaineers are dangerous, but the Cyclones are on a mission.

BYU - BYWho? A chance to make a name for themselves at the halfway point. Slim but better than 0-60.

Tiebreaker - I'm nervous about this game. Will be in the stands screaming my head off.
Texas 33 - ouSux 24

I'm trying to get out of the prediction game but here we are back in it.

With QE3 most likely starting, we don't score like we do with Arch given the focus on the RPO. That's not a bad thing since our defense stays rested. QE3 starts off slow but Texas takes over during the second quarter.

Specific TX-OU game predictions:

Quinn goes off against a OU pass defense that gives up a lot of big plays. >350 yards and 3 TDs.

Jaydon Blue rebounds after last game. He leads RBs in total yards and most importantly, no fumbles.

Michael Hawkins has protected the ball so far this year. That changes this week against a strong Texas pass defense and under the pressure of the Red River Shootout. He accounts for 2 turnovers.

Miss St has scored the most points against Texas this year, 13. OU offense scores 13 or less.

Final Score - Texas 38-17

Come on SHA - you can figure it out.

So you're predicting a defensive or special teams score? If we're looking at the difference between 13 and 17, all you can do come up with four and assume two safeties.

Yep, something from their D/ST. 10 offensive points and a D/ST TD to get to 17 points total. Both of my predictions would be correct in that instance.

Congratulations to HookemHorb who won this week's prediction contest. This is his second time to win this season I think. So we might want to pay attention to how this guy picks!

HookemHorb had sole possession of first place having only two misses.

Having 3 misses were – General Hooker, UTFish, Chapalahorn and PTA
Having 4 misses were – Sunkist, Baron and SHA
Having 5 misses was – dssi

Join me in celebrating HookemHorb's win this week as we award him with a set of soup spoons, a coveted set made by Dixie.

Quinn did not particularly go off as predicted. Had a chance to meet my mark but missed a few potential huge pass plays early.

It wasn't Blue who led the way but Wisner. Perhaps a new RB1 has emerged?

Hawkins had 1 fumble. No Ints but he seemed apt to hold the ball and take a sack vs force any covered throws.

OU did score less than 13 points.
