Clarington apparently cleared by the NCAA (waiting on Texas?)

The least they could do after taking so long. 9/11 is still too late to join the team (obviously) but at least it clears up the matter sooner than later.

I have a thought for everyone. It is this: It's time for someone to stick it to the NCAA. Dev, Go Deep!

Hook 'em!

He's apparently taking the ACT early next week. Classes don't being until August 27, and late registration even extends beyond that point.

He will obviously be behind the 8 ball coming into fall camp so late, but it looks like there's a chance to get him in for the fall.

There are some worthless organizations, and then there's the NCAA. They do nothing to blatant institutional cheaters, but go after innocent students who are just trying to go to school and play ball.

I'm beginning to think it has outlived its usefulness.

You go, Dev!

It's multiple choice. They could have a scantron on the spot. The NCAA just put into question the validity of the ACT test, and administrators.

Here is hoping the young man does well on the test and can begin the next chapter of his life.  I truly believe a redshirt would do him a world of good as he will need time to transition to his classes at UT alone as well as being behind football wise; however, if the UT coaches give him his playbook in an ACT test form, seems Dev will have no problem picking it up quickly and could contribute this year.

The NCAA might have raised a flag with the ACT people - but by all accounts it is ACT that is refusing to certify the score of his last test.  Apparently there are automatic flags for scores that jump significantly between the first and second tests - but Chip Brown reported last night that Devo's 'behavior' while taking the first test is what caused his score to be flagged and subject to further review.

It also makes sense that if ACT is the one refusing to certify the score - that they would accomodate an expedited re-test.
