Initial reaction for me is not good. Round robin with a CCG = a game we'd already seen once. Two five team divisions is rather weak.
Bring on two expansion teams, make the divisions, and have the CCG. I'd go Cincy and Memphis.
Perhaps with the recent developments, this might be a good time to begin talks about whether to keep Baylor or not. They've obviously decided to take the short cuts and will see a repeat of this in the future now, so cut ties now and let them sink with their ship. Add Houston to replace them.
The OU game is the dilemma. A second game with OU does not excite me. It takes away from the first game and the second game as well. So we'll either keep the game and possibly see them twice – or – replace them and play them for the CCG. In most years, they'll be the team. We do our part, we're there with them.
I would not be in favor of seeing the early October meeting go away. Just feels wrong.
