Big 12 Championship Game to return in 2017

Initial reaction for me is not good. Round robin with a CCG = a game we'd already seen once. Two five team divisions is rather weak.

Bring on two expansion teams, make the divisions, and have the CCG. I'd go Cincy and Memphis.

Perhaps with the recent developments, this might be a good time to begin talks about whether to keep Baylor or not. They've obviously decided to take the short cuts and will see a repeat of this in the future now, so cut ties now and let them sink with their ship. Add Houston to replace them.

The OU game is the dilemma. A second game with OU does not excite me. It takes away from the first game and the second game as well. So we'll either keep the game and possibly see them twice – or – replace them and play them for the CCG. In most years, they'll be the team. We do our part, we're there with them.

I would not be in favor of seeing the early October meeting go away. Just feels wrong.

I kinda agree with this sentiment, but don't think adding a G5 is a good move unless we get that pro rata increase Dennis Dodds and other "journalists" are blathering on about. Frankly I doubt ESPN/FOX will do that for the available options, but I haven't seen the contract. The data shows that an 8-game Big12 schedule + CCG definitely gives us the best route to the CFB Playoff.

But, I honestly believe we may have a shot at a disgruntled P5 team in a couple of years. The ACC Network ain't gonna happen and the SEC Network won't pay off anywhere near what Clay Travis originally projected. Maybe Florida State and Arkansas are in play by 2018?

Well, according to Dennis Dodds and most okies we can add just any teams - Moe, Curly, Larry - and realize a pro rata increase in our TV contracts. Hell, let's just go ahead and add six! Why not?
hell, yes!!  why don't we add about 38 teams?  make 'em pay for every one of 'em and give the 38 teams nothing.  nobody said we have to pay those teams.

we'll be rich i tell you.  rich.

I don't ever see Arkiesaw leaving the SEC unless the SEC is no more. I know a few folks with UA there and every time I've ever brought it up, they look at me like they've never even heard the idea.

IMO, Arkie hasn't been the same since leaving the SWC. They lost the presence they once had in Texas and with that, their talent level has never been consistent since.

But there's no way you can convince them that leaving was anything but a brilliant move.

Agree, Arky's dumbass fans probably love the SEC bandwagon. I'm sure they're very aggy-like.

I'd sure hate to see OU make the same mistake in a few years. Hopefully, their administration knows better.

A conference that plays a round robin schedule and then schedules  a"Conference Championship" game is just numb nuts stupid. It's unnecessary and could prevent a real champion from the idiot NCAA payoffs as currently planned. I see no rational for the morons in the Big 12 (10) office to go along with this crap idea.
