Beard is done

The longer this is quiet, the better Beard’s chances are, in my opinion. I’m going to guess they play out this season, then reinstate him during the off season, barring any new developments. Just my thoughts anyway.

The wheels of justice won't move fast enough to resolve this in a year. The university won't have the luxury of keeping him.

According to KXAN, Beard’s case is scheduled for a first court hearing on Jan. 18 in the 403rd District Court.
Weird how they will I guess try this but without the cooperation of the victim.

I'm no legal buff - would that imply the prosecutors have enough evidence to try him even without her testimony? Like, do they have pictures of injuries and enough from the police who responded?

They have a hearing set. I'm not a lawyer,  but I don't think this implies the case is going to go forward.

Assuming Beards fiance sticks to her latest version of events I would be surprised if it goes beyond the January hearing.

Chris Beard has been fired for cause.

Well there it is. Posted by Kirk Bohls

Y’all call me crazy if you want but I’d talk to Mark Few too.
You so crazy.

The attorney who wrote this letter made a mistake. That individual wrote, “The university,” rather than, “The University”.

Where do you think that person went to undergrad and law school?

Hook ‘em!

That letter indicates, at least to me, that UT has some actionable information.  That doesn’t mean that the information would be useful or even admissible in a criminal trial, but they had options, and they chose not to exercise them.

That letter does not sound like it was written on behalf of an entity that was intimidated, in the least.

My understanding is that the university can not be sued - sovereign immunity and all that.

Same thing that kept Mike Leach from suing Texas Tech
This serms like a terrible law in that it allows Universities, and maybe other entities to fire someone without a real reason,  but potentially a made up reason. (Not saying Texas didn't have a legitimate reason).

It makes me wonder if aggy could use this to get rid of Dimbo.
