lol once again your comments are baseless. There is nothing that Casey Horny has ever said publicly that would suggest he supports rape. What you are doing is you are taking your hate against Baylor and you are putting it in people who, to this point, don't deserve it. I hope that you are never in a situation that would call for someone to have forgiveness or fairness towards you because if karma is really a thing ,then you wouldn't get any of it. I'm sure that even as an adult you have made some mistakes or done some things that you either regret or no longer support. All I ask is that you use perspective whenever you try and analyze people's character because you are certainly sounding like someone who has none of it. What you people are doing by slandering this man all over message boards and twitter is simply wrong. He hasn't been accused of anything wrong. He hasbt been proved to have been involved in the wrongdoing, and he is a man with a remarkable reputation amougst his peers. That ought to mean something. It's okay to condemn behaviors and have questions , but until all the facts come out that man is innocent until proven guilty. People are trying to make this man a villain in the eyes of his own children and that serves no legitimate purpose. Let's talk with facts and not try and railroad the career of a quality control coach who very well may have done nothing wrong.
And I must note that I'm upset not only as a spectator, but as a Texan at the things that have been going on in Waco and so far based on what we know I wouldn't have any issue with giving their program the death penalty because 52 rapes by 31 players over a three year span is utterly f##ked up.
Nice wordplay, but my comments were never that Horny supports rape. My comments were that he seems indifferent to rape. Big difference.
Trust me, I have been in situations where I have been challenged to either risk my career and speak up, or express my support for the reprehensible actions of my boss. And I spoke up, lost my job and it had an incredibly adverse effect on my financial position and my career. But I asked the right questions, spoke up when I didn't get the right answers and got fired for following my sense of right and wrong. Don't bring your "mistakes, regrets and salvation" shit to me. The situation I was placed in blows the Baylor rape scandal out of the water. Don't preach ethics to me. Horny was, at the very least, willingly ignorant. To claim otherwise is to claim he is so clueless and ignorant that he has no business being on the UT staff.
People are asking Casey Horny to give us reason not to believe his support for an individual who appears to have acted in a despicable and reprehensible manner gives us an insight into Casey Horny’s sense of right and wrong, which is a matter of importance considering the fact he is in a leadership position in a program that is influencing the behavior of roughly 120 student athletes.
Casey Horny is on the record expressing his admiration for an individual he knew well and worked closely with. The overwhelming evidence is the individual Horny so deeply still admires acted in a horrendously despicable manner. Until Horny answers some very pointed questions, people are justified in assuming Casey Horny’s sense of right and wrong is as despicable as that of the person he admires so deeply.
What is going on is that Tom Herman is digging in his heels and refusing to allow Casey Horny be held accountable for his previous misguided support for Art Briles and to repudiate his support for Briles. That isn't going to fly with a lot of people. In Herman, we got a miniature version of Urban Meyer, but it is pretty clear what we got was a miniature version of Urban Meyer at Florida.
You may be ok with Horny, and seemingly Herman as well as Perrin tacitly indicating they understand exactly what Art Briles did at Baylor and they have no problem with what Art Briles did, because Art Briles won football games. That the UT program is seemingly becoming a scumbag program is reprehensible. That members of the UT staff with intimate knowledge of the Baylor program refuse to repudiate support for Art Briles and how he lead the Baylor program is appalling.
We all understand what Art Briles did at Baylor. But Horny, Perrin and Herman "understanding" what Briles did at Baylor and Horny's refusal to repudiate his earlier comments in support of Briles is simply unacceptable.
The stench of the Baylor rape scandal is getting ever more pungent inside Bellmont. That in itself is despicable. I have no doubt the stench is about to get much worse. All over a $65k/yr film guy. This is a stupid mistake by Tom Herman and shows Tom Herman is not ready to have "full control" over any major football program.
UT does not need to have a scumbag program to do well. If a scumbag program is all Herman knows how to build, then Tom Herman is the problem. Why Mike Perrin hasn't stepped in astounds me. It makes me wonder if Perrin, such as Herman and Horny, is indifferent to the culture of violence against women Art Briles allowed to exist, all for a couple of meaningless college football wins. This whole thing is bullshit, but it is the direction those controlling UT football have decided the program is going. Astounding and embarrassing.
