Baylor running thread.

So I have an idea that could make sense.

Kick Baylor out of the BigXII immediately.

Cancel all athletic events on the schedule. Do it now.

And, much as I would normally be reluctant to propose it...

... Book A&M back on the schedule on Fall Saturdays... and home-and-home in all major sports, men's and women's.

Baylor's depravity should not cause a problem with our memory.

Aggy blamed Texas for everything, including why Taylor Hamm is an aggy, as they left the conference. We were the cause of all things bad.

I wouldn't tinkle on them if their bodies caught on fire.

Agree except for the aggy part.

Good lord, what the hell else could possibly come to light at this point. #deathpenalty

F@#K you and every other Baylor apologist. There is nothing aggy did that would excuse the Baylor rape scandal.

And who the fuc said it would?

So now I am a Baylor apologist? smh

and we have one on our staff now....
But it's ok that Texas has a rape apologist on the staff of the football program - he's friends with Tom Herman.

It is an astounding exhibit of stupidity that Tom Herman has chosen to take on the alumni rightfully outraged at his hiring of a rape apologist for a $65k/yr position as a film studies assistant. The UT alumni do not want the stench of the Baylor rape scandal on the UT campus and the alumni will prevail, one way or another, in the end.

Creating animosity isn't how Herman should have started off as head coach. He obviously has a lot to learn about how to handle his having been given "total control" over the program. If he demands to be entitled to have a rape apologist on his staff, I cringe at his next stupid mistake.

Tom, this will get much worse before you finally learn your lesson. Mark my words.

Since you're the local expert on all things Baylor I have a couple of questions for you...

1.  I've searched the web but can't find anything on Casey Horny personally condoning or justifying rape...could you provide a link?

2.  Was he in on or have direct knowledge of the assaults and the cover-up or was he just going on what his boss told him?  I'd really like to find out, since we all know that, typically, the people involved in any kind of cover-up like to share that information with everyone that they work because it's easier to keep a secret when a bunch of people are in on it than if you keep the info limited to just a few people.

3.  Is it possible that he didn't know what was going on and was just defending his boss/friend who swore to him that he was innocent only to find out later that his boss/frien lied through his teeth about his involvement to anyone/everyone who would listen?

3a. I have friends and family who graduated from Baylor who did believe that Briles was being honest about his involvement up until they saw the evidence proving that he was a POS.  Are they now rape apologists and/or enablers?

4.  Do you honestly believe that Herman made the hire and that Perrin approved it without giving the big money alums a heads up or that Horny would be on staff if they had a problem with it?  If you do, I've got a bridge to sell you...

5.  Do you think that Herman logs in daily just to read your rants and mark your words?  I'm going to go out on a limb with this one but I don't think he gives a $#!^...

6.  Is this all that you think about?  Seems like there's a new post/rant every time anyone on Briles staff farts without saying "excuse me"...

Knowing far more at the time than we do even now, Horny publicly supported Art Briles, but as an individual and as leader of the Baylor program. There is no way anyone with knowledge of the situation could condone Art Briles' actions or the type of program he ran. That Horny seemingly still supports Art Briles is his prerogative, but if that is the case, Casey Horny is one seriously f##ked up guy and he has a very twisted set of values. He has no business being allowed any association with any college sports program.

Feel free to believe that Horny spent nine years closely associated with the Baylor program and was utterly clueless to what all was going on around him, but if that is indeed the case, how does being utterly clueless qualify Horny to be a member of the staff, whose job is to watch films and observe what is going on?

As for the "big money alums" being ok with allowing a seriously misguided individual on the UT staff, it was the Baylor alums whose attitude was "we don't want to head about the values of the school, we were promised a national championship" attitude that allowed Briles to continue on the Baylor campus. Are you claiming the attitude that Baylor alums had is the same attitude the UT alums should have towed winning a national championship?

As for your Baylor alum friends, if the continue to hold Art Briles as being the true victims in what happened on the Baylor campus and not the women who were assaulted (as seemingly Casey Horny still does), then yes, they are rape apologists and I believe they, too, should be prohibited from employment in the UT athletics department.

And as far as Horny's supposedly being vetted, Perrin may have contacted Baylor, but Baylor was supposedly working off the Pepper Hamilton report and remember, that report was not intended to be an exhaustive investigation of who knew what. It was a "stress test" of the athletic department's activities and, once a threshold of impropriety was shown to have existed, the inquiry was considered sufficient for the school's purposes. We still don't know if Horny will be implicated in any wrongdoing.

The bottom line is that whatever this guy brings to the program, it doesn't offset the stench being brought into the program by his presence. He was only hired because Tom Herman put his personal interests, in helping his otherwise unemployable friend, ahead of the interests of the program and the university, which are to operate the program at a high level of integrity.

Sending a message to the players that Horny doesn't have to be accountable for his words or actions because he is buddies with the right guy (Tom Herman) is the wrong message. It either indicates to the players they also don't have to be accountable for their words or actions, or that Tom Herman is a hypocrite when he holds some people accountable, just not his buddy. Allowing Casey Horny to remain on the UT staff without ever having to apologize for his comments or repudiate his public admiration of Art Briles is an even worse message.

If Horny truly does admire the man who we all know perpetuated a culture of rape and violence against women, he needs serious help. He doesn't need to be spreading his "values" to members of the UT football program.

I sickens me that UT alumni would rather look the other way at the fact a scumbag like Casey Horny is on the UT staff, and allow Tom Herman to give Casey Horny shelter from accountability, simply because it may keep the head coach happy and help the football team win an extra game or two. The stench of the Baylor scandal is already permeating the UT program more than it ever should have been allowed to.

The idea that you can know what another man knows, at a specific point in time in the past, without having been there, ever known the subject or even seen the subject in person – is about 50 steps past the end of the limb.

This is pretty ignorant. The guy was a Special Teams quality control coach ,he probably didn't know anything was going on. QC guys aren't ever approached or addressed about the high level stuff within the program. This is simply a guy who made the mistake of supporting his boss who obviously may have not disclosed everything factual or in its fullest extent to him. Just because you support a specific person in a unique situation based on the way things looked from your perspective doesnt make you a rape enabler and it's highly hypocritical of UT fans to call him one without knowing the full details of the case. This man has a wife, daughters, and I'm sure he had a mother so let's cool it with the character assasination of him. I just take exception to people that have no knowledge of what really went down trying to ruin the good name and life of a man who very well could have been innocent . Quality control coaches are at the bottom of the totem pole guys, I doubt he was heavily involved in this scandal. From everything I've read up on with people he's coached and worked with , Casey Horny is a good man that loves his family. It's okay to be mad at Baylor , but be mad at the right people. To this point there is nothing that suggest that Casey Horny knew anything about the misconduct at Baylor. Anyone who ever tells you that a QC coach is influential in decisions made by the head coach of any program simply does not know the ins and outs of coaching college football.
Give him due process, allow him to do his job, if it comes out he was involved then cut him loose but at the very least we can at least be fair. Should he have done the social media stuff? Absolutely not, but to say that a man enables rape based on him defending himself and his boss from slander from a local newspaper is simply wrong and uninformed.

As long as he refuses to speak publicly to clarify his earlier remarks concerning Art Briles, it is reasonable to assume he stands by his words. Based upon those words, we have every reason to question his integrity and his judgement.

As it is, it seems Herman and Fenves aren't concerned in the least that Horny is a disciple and admirer of Art Briles. Herman and Perrin seem to be quite comfortable lowering the standard of integrity of those involved with the football team, as long as it translates into a winning program. That nauseates me.

Texas does not have to hire people who are indifferent to violence against women, or to run a scumbag program, just to win a few more football games. But Texas has someone on its football staff who has given every indication he is indifferent to violence against women and who admires someone who tolerated violence against women on a massive scale, just because it made it easier for the football team to win games.

The stench of the Baylor program should have been kept as far away from UT football as possible, But, sadly, we have an AD and a head football coach who don't seem too concerned that the stench is now on the UT program. Horny has no business being on a college campus and Herman and Perrin have no business protecting Casey Horny from those who find his values disgusting.

I never thought I would see the day when the ethics surrounding UT football disgusted me. UT doesn't have to become a scumbag program to do well, but it seems clearly headed in that direction, if not already there.

lol once again your comments are baseless. There is nothing that Casey Horny has ever said publicly that would suggest he supports rape. What you are doing is you are taking your hate against Baylor and you are putting it in people who, to this point, don't deserve it. I hope that you are never in a situation that would call for someone to have forgiveness or fairness towards you because if karma is really a thing ,then you wouldn't get any of it. I'm sure that even as an adult you have made some mistakes or done some things that you either regret or no longer support. All I ask is that you use perspective whenever you try and analyze people's character because you are certainly sounding like someone who has none of it. What you people are doing by slandering this man all over message boards and twitter is simply wrong. He hasn't been accused of anything wrong. He hasbt been proved to have been involved in the wrongdoing, and he is a man with a remarkable reputation amougst his peers. That ought to mean something. It's okay to condemn behaviors and have questions , but until all the facts come out that man is innocent until proven guilty. People are trying to make this man a villain in the eyes of his own children and that serves no legitimate purpose. Let's talk with facts and not try and railroad the career of a quality control coach who very well may have done nothing wrong.
And I must note that I'm upset not only as a spectator, but as a Texan at the things that have been going on in Waco and so far based on what we know I wouldn't have any issue with giving their program the death penalty because 52 rapes by 31 players over a three year span is utterly f##ked up.
