Baylor running thread.

What I heard is not directly football related. I am still waiting to see if what I heard was rumor or if there will be documentation.

The subject is not Art Briles.

This Baylor mess, to me, has a lot of Penn State feel to it with Sandusky's sickness. JoePa covered that up, and Briles was doing the same thing with the rapes at BU. IMO, he should never be allowed to be around young men again, ever. Let him go be an assistant in the NFL, but never around high school or college kids again.

Thats what happens when you have players that rape women and adults enabling them. They deserve every bad thing that comes there way.

The assistant coaches at Baylor do not answer to Mr. Grobe. Grobe is close with Grant Teaff and I assume Grobe accepted the position as a favor to Teaff to keep Baylor's football program from imploding. Thinking about it now I think Grobe seems to have been brought in to coach this season to give Baylor the sense of solid leadership and stability as a program. If Baylor would have done what some think is the right thing and cleaned house of all Briles' assistants, how many more of Baylor's players would have transferred? Would this have completely destroyed Baylor's football program and, if so, is this really why this thing keeps dragging on? From a Baylor perspective, is this all about attempting to keep their winning football program viable in the future?

Via Twitter, several Baylor assistant coaches inserted themselves into the ongoing public debate regarding what Art Briles knew, what he didn't know, when he knew what, etc.

The Baylor assistant coaches statement (Twitter Friday night) acknowledges that Briles became aware of the allegation of gang rape by some of his players nine months after the incident. The Baylor assistant coaches also claim that Briles became aware that the alleged victim chose not to report the matter to police. Knowing that, I have one question for the Baylor assistant coaches: Were the football players who were accused of the alleged gang rape by a fellow Baylor student suspended by coach Art Briles from team activities until the facts became known or was it back to business as usual?

Answer that question and we will know Art Briles' motive with the Baylor football program. If the alleged victim did not report the matter to police because she feared shame, repercussions, negative attention, etc, did Art Briles follow up to insure that those accused of gang rape were held accountable or did the lack of charges give him the plausible deniability to stick his head in the sand?

The Bears finally gave up, Texas broke their will........................................................The End

Finebaum said yesterday that the Big 12 should dismiss Baylor from the conference or risk having that stain on the conference. Not the first time I've heard a call like that in the past month.
