You'd have to be the most naive person in the world to believe Mack Brown would ever "do the right thing."
When has Mack EVER "done the right thing."
Child please.
First of all, I ain't no child. I'm 55 and been around the program since I was born.
Secondly, you dig yourself in deep when you speak in absolutes and hyperbole.
Do you know Mack Brown? I do. Have you eaten with the him at a team dinner, as recently as this year? I have. I know him, he knows me. I can actually tell you, he in fact, always tries to do the RIGHT thing. It may turn out to be wrong in hidsight (Many Diaz) but he is a man of the highest character and morals. He has made decisions regarding the school and program that may have handicapped the team from a competitive standpoint but yet, was the RIGHT thing to do.
I do however recognize its time for him to retire. It has been for awhile. Th problem is he recognizes it has to be on a proper timetable. There are many variables that have to be considered. Recruiting, availability of the correct replacement, contractual considerations etc.
There are many people involved in working on the proper timetable and it will be well thought out and done RIGHT! It may not be to our liking or it may not satisfy our knee jerk reaction but it will be well thought out.
I love what Mack Brown has done for the University but the game and time have cought up to him. I only hope our next coach has as much integrity as Coach Brown. Wait, I know we will. At Texas we do things RIGHT!
