For some reason I've always had the perception that there was more experience on this team. This team is much younger then I thought. We will be returning some serious talent next year.
Starting catcher-Tres Barrera (F)
Starting 1B-Kacy Clemens (F)
Starting 2B- Brooks Marlow (J)
Starting SS- CJ Hinojosa (So)
Starting 3B-Zane Gurwitz and Andy McGuire (Both F)
Starting RF-Ben Johnson (So)
Starting CF-Mark Payton (Senior)
Starting LF-Colling Shaw (J)
Jeremy Montalbano also sees significant time at catcher and DH (So)
Starters
Justin Peters (J)
Parker French (J)
Nathan Thornhill (Senior)
Lukas Schiraldi (J)
Bullpen
Travis Duke (So)
Blake Goins (F)
Jon Malmin (F)
Josh Sawyer (F)
Chad Hollingsworth (So)
Ty Culbreth (So)
James Swan (F)
Morgan Cooper (F)
John Curtiss (So)
Essentially we will only be losing 1 player next year in terms of fielding and bats. Granted, it's a pretty big loss in Payton. We also lose Felts, but he really hasn't been a consistent player in the rotation. In terms of pitching we will only be losing one starter in Thornhill, who can be replaced with Schiraldi or even one of the Freshman arms in the bullpen like Goins or Sawyer. Texas won't lose anybody out of it's bullpen next year. Some serious talent returning next year. The only player that has the potential to go pro IMO is Barrera, but he's got some major developing to do if that's going to happen after this year.
