Might be a good time to start monitoring the bama boards.

A friend of mine, who is a Bama alumn, says lots of Bama folks are pissed at UT right now. Says a deal has been made between Patterson and Saban which will be announced after Saban's bowl game. Says Saban demanded that his extension not have a buyout and they think this is why.

Just found it interesting coming from the other side.

I don't think he had one in the previous deal either. They probably tried to push one with this big of a raise and he balked.

See I thought it was the other way around with at least his most previous contract. With his new one he insisted on not having a buyout option, which is now leaving everyone here in Texas and Alabama on the edge of their seats. Hell, the whole nation for that matter. Don't quote me on that though.

It's funny that I told him that UT fans had all but resigned themselves to thinking Saban's ship had sailed. He said after last time he's not surprised it's on the down low on the UT end.

He also had no buyout with the Dolphins. I couldn't find anything for LSU but I didn't search that hard for it. 4th paragraph in mentions the no buy out. NCAAF After repeated denials, Saban takes Bama job - ESPN
