TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The 911 call could not have sounded more urgent: A man was beating a woman holding a baby outside their apartment as she tried to leave.

“You just need to get someone out here right away because it is really bad,†the caller said, adding that the man was “punching†the mother and “grabbing the little baby around the arm.â€

******************

They did, however, find the case significant enough to notify their sergeant — “due to the fact that it was an F.S.U. football player,†the report said.  The sergeant, a Florida State University sports fan, signed off on it and the complaint was filed away as “unfounded.â€

It was hardly the first time that the towering presence of Florida State football had cast a shadow over justice in Tallahassee........

Man, FSU and Tallahassee PD are tight!

I see now why A&M's Chancellor (Not So) Sharp is trying to build a similar relationship with Bryan-College Station police departments. It's just good for business

My wife is an Free Shoes University grad.  She has become very unhappy with the reputation that program has and some of the bad actors coming out of there.  I suspect there are a lot more incidents at FSU that don't make it to the news...

It's gotta be tough as an FSU fan....the program was rolling under Bowden at it's high point, but was noted by everyone for being fast/loose/criminal. Then they fell off. Now, when they rise back up to prominence, it seems the same character flaws are rearing up.

FSU's not exactly OU in the Switzer days, but they're headed that way.  Given how rapey their players are, starting with their Heisman-winning quarterback, I wouldn't let a daughter go to school there.  Matter of fact, if I were sending any child off to school, I'd want to know that that child would be expected to obey the law or pay the consequences...that's real life. Apparently, however, it's NOT real life in Tallahassee.  FSU's athletic department and the local police must have some kinda sweeheart deal for that many miscreants to get off without even a slap on the hand.  That kind of reputation eventually comes back to bite you in the butt...it did OU, and it will FSU.  Oh, and yeah...TAMU's headed toward FSU-OU status on Sumlin's watch.  I suppose he can put one of those fine agricultural lawyers on retainer and keep him or her down at the collie station PD's booking room to clean up any messes left by aggy players.  It was a match made in heaven when TAMU joined the SEC.

And the answer is... Jimbo Fisher.

Charlie Strong is about to prove you can win with character and style.

And maybe not just win, but beating the crap outta folks.

Cecil Cherry is working 24 hours a day to come to town and prove it.

Follow him on twitter and read what he's putting out.
