Heard yesterday that a friend and former co-worker died suddenly at the age of 53. The family is going to do an autopsy, but he wasn't a smoker, was a little bit of a health nut and had no history of heart disease so it's a mystery to this point.

two cool teenage kids, had recently started a good job and relocated to S Fla and all was well. I know...everything happens for a reason, and i tend to believe that but that doesn't help a lot at times like this.

anyway, just venting. it is what it is and it sucks.

Sorry for the loss of your friend, STP. It will be tough on those teenage kids.

I do not subscribe to the "everything happens for a reason" or "it was God's will" theories. I do not think God wanted your friend to die for any reason. so sorry for your loss.

I'm very sorry for your loss, STP. I've had friends who, like yours, really took care of themselves. Sometimes things like family health history factor in. I don't smoke and don't drink, but I have to take Lipitor because heart disease/issues are prevalent in my family history. My cholesterol was 325 this time last year. Today it's 161.

I won't get into the reasoning. IMO, when we go it's just our time to go. There are some things the mind just can't grasp. This may be one of those times for you. God Bless ya.

yeah, obviously i don't know either. didn't mean for anything to veer off on a theological path. i'm not qualified to talk intelligently about that (yeah, i know...or most other subjects either).  just makes me sick for his kids. and the fact he was 2-years younger than me is a slap of reality as well.

So sorry street. When it comes to dying the old ones must and the young ones might.

Me too, STP. The fact that you grieve for him says a lot for him and for you. I just hope somebody cares when my time comes.

My prayers are with you and your friends family today StoP. Your Love for your friend will help get you through this difficult time.

While life and it's tragedies don't always seem fair, they're always is a greater purpose for that part of our journey.

God Bless You.

Sorry for the loss of your friend Street.  These kind of losses are always hard to understand and accept.

The human body is an exquisite piece of beautifully designed machinery.  But sometimes parts of the machinery are not truly up to manufacturers specs and they fail too soon in their service life.
