Update on OL Tyler Thomas of Dickinson after receiving a Texas offer (IT):

“I was expecting it because my coach told me Coach Flood was going to offer,” Thomas told Inside Texas Monday afternoon. “We did the camp, finished one-on-ones and Coach Sark pulled me to the middle of the field. He said Coach Flood has been talking great about you. We all love you, so we want to go and and make it official by offering you.”

“It means a lot. They have been one of my top schools for a while since I went there last year. I went to Texas games against TCU and West Virginia. Really, they are a family. Being on campus Saturday, all the players were there and were like a big family. Coach Flood is a great coach, and kind of like a father figure.”

“For sure Texas is at the top of my list right now.”

Quotes from RB Harlem Berry of Metairie, LA after being on campus this past weekend (IT).

This is one to watch as the RB for '25, and he's close with Manning.

“It was amazing,” said Berry told Inside Texas.

“I love Coach (Tashard) Choice,” said Berry, who is also close to Texas quarterback Arch Manning. “I just got to go prove why he made the right choice (by offering). I loved the way they used (Bijan Robinson).”

“It went really well,” the source told Inside Texas. “They (Texas staff) loved the kid, his dad, and family. Solid person, too.”

247 spoke with LB Elijah Barnes of Dallas Skyline after his visit to campus.

One thing to remember is his position coach at Skyline right now is former Texas LB Peter Jinkens.

“It was great, good environment, good coaches and good people all around,” Barnes continued. “There was a lot of high energy around the camp and after I got to meet with coach Choate, he was really cool. He wanted to sit down with me and talk with me and let me know more about him and our conversation was good.”

“He was saying that I’m the right type of guy for their defense and I fit right in with their scheme and that if I do go here he’s going to develop me into the player that I want to be.”

“I think I fit in great,” Barnes continued. “I can move around and play defensive end, outside linebacker, and mike and just move around to all three of those spots and be versatile.”

“A lot, I saw a lot. I was paying attention to coach Choate when he was coaching the other players and I took that in and when I play on Friday nights I’m going to try those moves at least once or twice.” Barnes said.

“Oh my god the stadium— the stadium is so big, I was just imagining the whole time I was in it how many people would be in it just yelling and screaming if I do come here.”

“My mind isn’t really on any top schools right now, I still got a lot of time but during my junior year I’ll start settling down and taking more visits and eventually officials and then I’ll try to pick some of my favorites," said Barnes.

“It’s great having a coach (Peter Jinkens) that came here.” Barnes said on Jinkens. “He tells me a lot about this school and it’s great having him coach me.”

Update on CB Cobey Sellers of Pearland Shadow Creek after being on campus this weekend (247).

“When I got the offer, just from there we built (a relationship),” Sellers told Horns247. “I got to meet Coach Joseph. We’re becoming a family.”

“It was good. Got to learn from Coach Joseph and his assistant,” Sellers said of workouts. “I really liked it. (Learned) Some on the line stuff, my alignment, how far off I’ll be, what hand to shoot, when to break, and play through the hands, really.”

“The relationship I’m building with Coach Joseph and Coach Sark,” Sellers said of what he likes about UT. “I love them as people. And I can tell that they like me as a player and as a person. And I feel like they make my family comfortable. That’s what I like about the coaches.”

“He (Sark) took time to personally offer me,” Sellers said. “I like that. From any other coach, he was the first one to do that. I just like that he took time out of his day to offer me personally.”

“I love UT and OU,” he said. “I also like Baylor. I really like Baylor and what Coach Curtis is doing over there.”

247 with an update on WR Ja'Corey Watson of Pearland Shadow Creek.

“This one was great it feels like home, the pool party was amazing,” Watson said. “Everybody treats me like family: ‘Welcome to UT! All gas, no brakes!’ I love it. So that’s one thing I really liked and I like how when I get here I can feel like home here.”

“I didn’t get the chance to camp this year but next year I’m going to come around and show my talents off again," Watson. said.

“He’s like family, that’s my dog, coach Jackson is my dog, me and him have been like this ever since he came up here," Watson said while crossing his fingers to emphasize his bond with Jackson. "He’s been back to Houston a couple times and we talked then and I’ve come back down here a few times just to show my work and everything.”

“As a quarterback, when you’re at receiver it helps you know where the holes to sit are and when you’re playing quarterback, you have to have a high IQ to know your receivers and where everyone is going to be at," he said. "When I’m at receiver I’m always thinking two seconds, three seconds, four seconds.”

“It really doesn’t matter to me,” Watson said when asked if there’s a certain receiver position he prefers. “As long as I can get on the field and make plays and get the ball in my hands I’m good.”

“I could envision myself playing a big role here as a slot like how they use Xavier [Worthy] that’s how I want to be used just like that,” he said.

“Probably one of the football games in the fall,” Watson said regarding when he could return to Austin. “My June is full, and during July they’re off so football season I’ll definitely be back.”

He's already over 6'. I'll grant you he's light in the britches, His arm talent is good at the very least. First play of his hudl highlights he throws a 60+ yard strike. Quick release using different arm angles. Moves in the pocket well and doesn't hurt his touch or velocity. This kid has all the tools. Will he stay committed? Who knows, but this can't hurt UT right now.
