Take it for what it's worth, but IT spoke with three Power 5 assistants who recruit Duncanville and have been a part of the recruitment for DE Colin Simmons, and all believed LSU would be the pick.

One of them was hesitant to pick LSU because he acknowledged Simmons had made a silent commitment to Texas and was recruiting for the class at one point.

It sounds like Simmons has made silent commitments to both Texas and LSU - hence the increased confidence out of LSU after his visit. 

I am reading between the lines here a bit but listening to how it has been discussed on the IT podcasts recently that wouldn't surprise me.
