2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

Ok. I try not to get too far ahead of myself so I take it 1 class at a time, but 2023 is almost wrapped up. Question for the board. Who are the 5-10 must-have players for the '24 class?

RB – Jerrick Gibson at IMG has a Texas offer and has serious interest in UT. In-state, James Peoples RB from San Antonio is who I like. He has an offer.

WR – We are swinging for the fences with 5-stars Jeremiah Smith (Florida) and local product Micah Hudson. Gimme Hudson as the MUST HAVE here. He's from Belton for crying out loud. I also like Derion Miller from Silsbee. Parker Livingstone from Lucas is a big timer who is getting serious with UT.

TE – No offers out to any TE in Texas. We've offered a 5-star from Georgia but I'm not counting on anything out of that.

OL – Down the street in San Marcos lives a giant we're looking at for OT. Ory Williams is 6'7, 340. He may not be a must-have, but he's a hella-nice get. Top offer is to 5-star from Mater Dei (Cal) Brandon Baker. There is hope in that one due to connections. Uini from Cove is another offer I like.

CB – Kobe Black is the must-have at CB, IMO. Great size, speed, agility and from Waco. Jaden Allen from Aledo is already committed. We lost Hampton from Daingerfield at this spot but I don't think we're even pursuing him anymore.

S – Staff likes the Kabongo kid from Trophy Club. He has an offer. There is no rating on him yet which is weird. For my money, I like Jayden Hardy from Lewisville (where I live). He has great size and speed and has an offer.

QB – Our top rated offers have already committed elsewhere. We're still looking around. Trey Owens from Cypress has an offer and has visited a couple times.

LB – I like 4-star Justin Williams from Conroe Oak Ridge. We've hosted Peyton Pierce from Lucas a lot. Tyanthony Smith from Jasper has also visited and has an offer. I would really like to have Kolaj Cobbins out of Louisiana. He's got an offer.

DE – Colin Simmons out of Duncanville is a must-have. Zina Umeozulu out of Allen would be an awesome get. 

DL – Nigel Smith is my favorite here. He has an offer and I hope we put the full court press on him. Must have, IMO. 

 
So realistically, who do we think will be our QB signee in this class? Not a ton of great options in state but that may be a good thing after Arch.

Lots of recruits will be hesitant to come, having to sit behind Arch.
