Zina needs to get this over with and commit. What is he waiting for? I keep hearing that the family wants to see how much his brother plays. What does that have to do with it? Two different players progressing at their own pace and competing for playing time. Maybe there's something I'm missing, but otherwise pull the trigger and save your spot. If Texas does as well as I feel they will, they'll be other options knocking on the door.
I'm on the fence with Zina. From what I hear, he will need to learn a new work ethic and not take plays off. He often disappears in a play. Says he plays like a 3-star.

Thats just what I hear. I haven't seen him play myself.

My son sent me this:

"Was told Sark and McKinley's mother have been in contact today and yesterday, so any reports that Texas is out of it are just speculation" - Hank South, 247.

Sark talking with mom seems positive.  We will see.

Would you rather have Zina or Okoye?

Here's the rest:

Hank South (Horns 247), on Dominick McKinley.

Was told Sark and McKinley's mother have been in contact today and yesterday, so any reports that Texas is out of it are just speculation. Checking in with several sources today, I have heard the Aggies buzz and I'm not discounting it. They're a serious contender for McKinley and one that we've seen several media lean towards here less than 72 hours out. I'm not there yet. I'm sticking with my Texas prediction for now. I think we're probably going to see some more twists and turns and we're probably going to see a healthy contingent of coaching staffs at Acadiana on Friday (the first day coaches can get back out on the road).

South said about an hour ago he isn't changing his Texas pick.

Regardless, Texas has been the one constant for McKinley.
One of the other mods at 247, Scruggs, posted an article this morning and said it's his understanding that Texas is behind for McKinley right now.

I think that McKinley's recruitment may not ultimately be decided until December so there is that.  Also, the rumors swirling the in the last couple of days would indicate to me that he has not decided, however, I believe he has stated that he knows where he is going (Much like Colling Simmons commitment).  If that is incorrect someone please let me know.  If in fact he already knows where he is going the last minute rumors might well be a diversion to throw everyone off so when he does announce it will have more impact.  Maybe I am soothing my mind by thinking this way.

It feels like McKinley is slipping away. Hope not, but not feeling very confident.
We will know soon enough. And if he does go aggie, doesn’t mean he is completely gone. As we learned last year with Anthony Hill.

Wednesday news on DT Dominick McKinley, per Hamilton at IT...

- coaches from LSU, Oklahoma and Texas are going to be at Acadiana HS for his announcement on Friday. A&M may show up as well.

- the confidence in Austin is lower in the last 48 hours, but the family has been in constant contact with Sark.

- Texas' advantages are driving distance (the family wants to be able to watch the younger brother play football on Friday nights before traveling), moving to the SEC and McKinley wanting to major in computer science.

- A&M's confidence has increased in the past two weeks with College Station being the second closest town after Baton Rouge, plus it has a smaller feel like Lafayette.

- Oklahoma's DL coach and director of recruiting have supposedly hit a home run with the family from a religious angle as they're very big on faith, but travel to Norman isn't straightforward.

Nahlin added that if their data points are correct, it's looking like A&M.

There's just not a lot of noise on Texas' side of things.

Why would he set a commitment date if he didn't know where he was going. He's a 5 star, no one is going to quit until the ink is dry and beyond.

As a retired Computer Engineer I have worked with many engineers from Texas, less from aggy none from ou, although I did work with a Texas grad whose brother was a big time player at ou.

So if he seriously wants to be a Computer Engineer ou would be a mistake.
