2023 Recruiting Board/Thread

There is a reason (well probably a couple) that high school baseball recruiting doesn't have the media following that football recruiting does - you never know which players will make it to campus.

Between guys going straight to the pros, studs going the juco route to be draft eligible in 2 years instead of 3 years it is just too hard to hype up baseball recruiting.
you are correct half of the kids on that list are projected to be  drafted in the MLB draft in July, really tough for some of these kids to pass up the bonus signing money, but stats are showing that the kids that play a few years in college make it to the majors quicker

I love, I mean love, this class.  Duce would make it two of the best classes back to back I've seen in a long time.  It already is, but he would make that much sweeter.
If baseball is an important aspect with him, wouldn't Texas have the upper hand? Doesn't USC kinda suck at baseball? Or is he just going to sign a deal after the MLB draft?

Now that they can make money in college I wonder how that changes things. The NIL money won't come close to the 1st round signing bonus money but if they are truly a stud that can bring in a decent amount while playing college ball which has to be infinitely more fun than single A ball.

Is he going to Oregon or ou?

Thank you.  I was (still am) very confused by that.  Would love it if he changed course and ended up at Oregon, just to F with OU.
He's at ou. He supposedly sent in his paperwork to Oregon, but forgot to put am or pm next to the time. Oregon told him to correct the paperwork. During that time, he had a change of heart and ended up with the dirt burglars. Guess 49-0 appealed to him.

Not sure if this post belongs here so if it doesnt feel free to remove it

I was reading a Calif HS Baseball recruiting article and Texas has TWO of the Top Ten players committed in the 2023 class, one is a SS at # 10 the other is a player from the same HS we got Maalik from and he is ranked at # 5 in the State....the only fly in the ointment is that both may also appear in the MLB draft in July, but if they dont they are supposed to make an immediate impact on the Horn baseball program...sorry I didnt link the article but if I find it again I will
I remember when the great Cliff Gustafson was coach… I’d get giddy at the commitment list - only for the class to be decimated by the draft.   It’s an interesting dynamic- recruiting for college baseball.

This just in - Cliff did okay.

49-0 screams immediate playing time.
