2023 Recruiting Board/Thread

IT reporting he's now expected to announce on Tuesday since this week's weather has delayed things.

But it doesn't sound like it's all Texas as it seemed a few days ago.

He's been on the phone with TCU, Texas and USC multiple times today and he's reportedly torn between the three programs.

Hamilton chimed in and is hearing USC is likely out.

Mother and grandmother want him close to home.
Friday info says USC is out.

Positive vibes in Texas' favor the past day, and Hamilton is keeping his prediction for the Horns.

Come on down Roberson!  Kate is waiting.  Besides, if you like 50k fans cheering you on, it will be nothing compared to 100k fans in Austin.

Cause we are expecting  one of our safeties to transfer but those 100,000 thousand can see you just as good warming pine.?

When the window reopens, Burton thinks Texas needs an edge and a btg RB.

Guess he means a 225 pounder or close to it.A senior transfermight be bestone and done.

No more transfers! Just develop the roster and coach up the talent we already have
I hear what you are saying, you definitely don't want to be bringing in a lot of one and done players. That may allow for a lot of quick solutions but cause more long term problems.

BUT....one thing I notice that Texas seems to be doing, taking transfers with multiple years of eligibility remaining.

2023 tranfers

Gavin Holmes - 2 yrs remain

Jalan Catalon - 2-3 yrs remain (depending on injury redshirt)

Adonai Mitchell - 3 yrs remain

2022 transfers

Quinn Ewers - 4 yrs remaining

Ryan Watts - 4 yrs remaining

Jahleel Billingsley - 3 yrs remaining

Isaiah Neyor - 3 years remaining

Agiye Hall - 4 years remaining

Tarique Milton - 1 year remaining (redshirt remained as well)

Diamonte-Tucker Dorsey - 1 year remaining

So in his two transfer classes they have brought in 10 players with an average of 2.8 years of eligibility remaining. The number of incoming transfers is pretty low and the avg years remaining is 1 short of a high school recruit. I think this is a great way to use the portal.

I also embrace 1 year players coming in when they fit a need but a sign of a healthy roster will be not needing to rely on many of these types of transfers.

A De is needed to add depth and hopefly start. Grad transfer would be ideal. Play one year and let the young ones develop.

As for as a big RB unless Blue leaves after spring game, I see no need for oneThen a 240 lb FB would be nice if room.

Wow ! I kind of expected this due to the traffic on this site, but TCU goes to the national title game and we flip one of their top recruits.
Is NIL money here a lot better than TCU can offer ?

Regardless, this is impressive

Cedric Baxter tidbit - Chip Brown had his coach on his podcast and his coach said he was being recruited by the Ivy League schools and had a 3.8 GPA. Obviously had a lot of positives to say about him and his leadership - he did say he had the best leadership traits he has seen in 17 years of coaching.

Already excited about Ced B but even more so now.
