2023 Recruiting Board/Thread

Cedric Baxter tidbit - Chip Brown had his coach on his podcast and his coach said he was being recruited by the Ivy League schools and had a 3.8 GPA. Obviously had a lot of positives to say about him and his leadership - he did say he had the best leadership traits he has seen in 17 years of coaching.

Already excited about Ced B but even more so now.
Nice to hear.  Sounds like another kid that has his head on straight Talk about a perfect replacement for Bijan off the gridiron.   Hopefully on as well.

Wow ! I kind of expected this due to the traffic on this site, but TCU goes to the national title game and we flip one of their top recruits.
Is NIL money here a lot better than TCU can offer ?

Regardless, this is impressive
I think most people realize how fluky of a season they seemed to have. Plus the campus is small and crappy. More people in the area like UT, aggy, or 0u more than TCU. I think he felt that. I'm sure money factored in too but we are better at everything except on field performance last year.

But, but, they have CDC’s first choice as their head coach. If only the BMDs had stayed out of things.?

Doing what he can to boost his MLB draft prospects. If he can get drafted and sign for a couple million he may not make it to a campus.

A De is needed to add depth and hopefly start. Grad transfer would be ideal. Play one year and let the young ones develop.

As for as a big RB unless Blue leaves after spring game, I see no need for oneThen a 240 lb FB would be nice if room.
agree. They could use an experienced & legit SDE to give recruits a year or two to grow into a SDE

Texas had good fortunes with big fullbacks in Mack's time: Cody Johnson, Chris Whaley, Henry Melton, etc. A big bodied RB tends to be athletic enough to play other positions as needed. A hybrid SDE would be nice.

Lol. Well, I'm glad we got that clarified. As I understand this, he is definitely going to sign with someone, sometime, on or before April 1st, and possibly today.
haha yeah.

He doesnt need to sign anything. Wait through mid summer to find out the draft results and then just fill out the financial aid paperwork

Not sure if this post belongs here so if it doesnt feel free to remove it

I was reading a Calif HS Baseball recruiting article and Texas has TWO of the Top Ten players committed in the 2023 class, one is a SS at # 10 the other is a player from the same HS we got Maalik from and he is ranked at # 5 in the State....the only fly in the ointment is that both may also appear in the MLB draft in July, but if they dont they are supposed to make an immediate impact on the Horn baseball program...sorry I didnt link the article but if I find it again I will

There is a reason (well probably a couple) that high school baseball recruiting doesn't have the media following that football recruiting does - you never know which players will make it to campus.

Between guys going straight to the pros, studs going the juco route to be draft eligible in 2 years instead of 3 years it is just too hard to hype up baseball recruiting.
