IT reporting DE/LB Derion Gullette will be cleared to start running and lifting in February.

However, he's not expected to put on pads during spring training.

I wasn't trying to imply that the four interior defensive linemen I mentioned are the only four on our roster.  The point was that we're soon losing our top 4 interior DL.

Is the point of your response that depth and talent are fine there, and just bringing in one is a non-issue?  I'd like to know if that is the case because it would answer the question that I actually posed.
Yes, I believe we are fine at IDL.

It seems PK is wanting really big, quick guys inside. The younger guys we have currently have the frame to play at 300 plus.

Mitchell is already there and if there is another space eater available we would probably take them.

With four already getting snaps and four more getting ready it’s not a position of great need in my opinion.

Nick Harris update on Williams

EDIT 2:20pm: Just talked to a source at Texas that said that the staff had a positive conversation with Derek Williams and his mom this afternoon and they now expect him to sign on Wednesday once again.

Given the back-and-forth nature here, this is something I won't consider resolved until the letter of intent is received tomorrow or when the signing period expires on Friday. It is notable that Texas has confidence back in the building after a little bit of panic this morning.

Thank you good sir.  You've done the unthinkable and caused me to do a little research. Below are the IDL who were not upperclassmen this year.

Swanson            Fr           6-4 257
Bryant                 Fr           6-2 307
Bledsoe              Fr           6-4 260
Ross                    Fr           6-2 263

Add Broughton, Murphy and Mitchell to this - and I do believe you are correct.... we should be okay - as long as there are a few ready for prime time players above.

By the way, I agree with Coach K's strategy, preferring large quick players for the DL.  I never agreed with coaches who insist on small and slow players.

Okay.... it's almost time to sign?  It's almost time for something big to be announced?  Or is that a trophy.... he bought a car at Trophy Nissan in the Dallas area?
