2023 Recruiting Board/Thread

This year's team is drastically different than last year's team.  We don't know if it is for the better, worse or the same yet.  Let the games play out.  I believe UT can play with Bama but will they is the question.  Sept is almost here and we will find out soon enough.  And Hookem

I hope you’re right.... I’m settling in to enjoy a building project... from the ground up.

The idea that we can compete with the best DL in the country running out, perhaps, 3 true freshman on the OL tests my logic meter beyond its capacity.  But I’ve been wrong before.

I should clarify when I mean compete.  That means playing above their projections.  I believe they will compete in the future with bama but to do it this year they have to play above their expectations.  Will they who knows but I believe they are capable.  Hopefully they surprise everyone including Horn fans.  Do they have the will power to do that. Come Sept 9th we will find out.

Anyways back to recruiting.  Is Toviano still announcing the 25th?

Yes, yes, recruiting.  What are the chances Texas can end up with Toviano, Akana, Wilson, Hale and maybe Markis Deal to finish out this class and defense?

The way I see it is:

Toviano 55%

Akana 40%

Wilson 30% (but that is going up in my head)

Hale 90%

Deal No idea  (his was just a name I've heard mentioned for DL.  Not sure how aggressive Texas is with him)

That would give them 27 recruits for this year. 14 Offense and 13 Defense

Toviano sounds like he is pushing his timeline back. Will probably take it into September or October. He plays things close to the vest so hard for all the recruiting guys to get a good read on him.

Since everyone else seems to want to derail the recruiting thread for the '23 season for the game that is 3 weeks away; I read this as a possibly to be here on the 10th of Sept. What is the thoughts of him actually showing up then? Plus who else is a possible showing up for the game?

The Damon Wilson visit on Sept 10th isnt set in stone, but Gerry did go visit with him in person and was told by him that he wants to take an OV that weekend. In recruiting, we never know about these visits until they make it to campus.

whether or not the Longhorns forfeit the game against Bama the night before?  That would be a telling sign on whether or not they want to compete.

I have read more conflicting reports this year than I can remember

24/7 uses a gaussian distribution formula bell curve to rate team rankings. No wonder we can not understand thier ratings.
