What about his brother ? Did he declare ?
crazy the way things are working out.
Herman couldn’t get Brocks, which was a big deal at the time,

wasn’t that the same year Ewers decommitted ?
And now there is a chance they will both be at Texas.
Looks like things are changing around here.
Exciting times !!

Why would you? You don't even know if he's suitable depth. You'd pass over a starting OL from Bama in order to get a kid who couldn't get on the field?

The starting guard with three years experience at Bama who has declared has already reached out to Texas.

All of this talk may be moot because we aren't shopping for OL.
100% agree. Tommy was a red shirt freshman and saw action (less than 15 plays) in two meaningless games. He wasn’t even listed on the depth chart. He’s a pass for me.

Javion Cohen would be a possibility if one if our freshman guards could move to center.

Talk to me, Sark.

Gonna be interesting to see how the different portal strategies between UT (recuiting on-the-field experienced & productive portal transfer players) and other in-state Big 12 schools like TCU & UH (recruiting portal players who were highly-recruited outta of H.S., but haven't proven it on-the-field yet at the college level) will work out long term.

Not necessarily.  This is new info to me.

if you have a good OL or DL that you can get, numbers aren’t as much of a concern… you load up in those spots IMO.

I think we may be reading too much into Tommy’s playing time as a rs Fr at BAMA.  I do think he could likely be depth here.

You can find it a couple pages back, but I posted when he declared (Damion something is his name) anyway, he's a two-year starter at Guard there and had reached out to UT prior to entering the portal.

Now, from what I've read, he has some mental issues and doesn't deal with pressure well. That was from an article I read about him. They said he's learning how to manage it so there's that.

I would think that it will be situational. For example, at positions with promising younger players already on the team, pick up a seasoned player with a year or two of eligibility left to buy time for the younger guys to develop. At positions where the HS talent is lacking or there was a recruiting miss, then look to pick up a younger portal player. Also, there may be positions where the first stringer is solid, but there isn't a proven backup where someone with 2-3 years of eligibility might be a good fit.

Damion George. We were hot after him too when he committed to Bama,if I remember right.

Sark May be a better option than Saban.

Okay, my bad. Not Damion, but Javion.

George is a OTis he not IMO tackle is more of a need than guard. Then Flood has a better knowledge of what is needed and who is leaving.
