2023-24 Transfer Portal Thread (PORTAL CLOSED)

I looked into Korie Black since there have been rumors of him leaving Okie Lite to play his last year with his younger brother Kobe at Texas.

Seems like a good player! 2 year starter for them and played in 49 career games. This year has 16 Tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT, and 1 FF. Seems like a decent addition to me.

I look forward to us torching him on Saturday though...

Looks like qb's are going to be a dime a dozen. Doesn't look good for quarterbacks entering the portal.

Unless I'm mistaken, this seems like at this point there's a lot more portal activity then last year. I know the window is shorter, so it will happen faster, but wow.

The transfer portal and NIL is resulting in a free agency free for all that will likely concentrate the talent into the big money schools. It's making college football into a no salary cap professional league. In concept I don't love it, but since it will likely benefit schools like Texas, I don't completely hate it.
This is killing college football as we knew it. I hate it.

Of course they all expect to be able to cash in on NIL. In reality, a significant number won't have a better spot or a spot at all when the music stops. Like Sark says, most of them are in the portal for a reason. Left unsaid is that it's often not a good reason.
