SignUp Now!True, but he did take the 2s on a 91 yard drive with Sark not holding them back like you might normally see in mop up duty. I'm confident tceh didn't want them to score on that drive. That was impressive.I agree that Arch looked very good in his debut. But, there is a big difference in coming in doing mop up duty when the outcome of the game is pretty much decided versus starting a "must win" game like Maalik did.
Tech was beat into submission by that time. He was 2 of 5.True, but he did take the 2s on a 91 yard drive with Sark not holding them back like you might normally see in mop up duty. I'm confident tceh didn't want them to score on that drive. That was impressive.
He looked more calm, decisive, mobile and accurate than the two QBs above him. Obviously he’s not under any pressure with the game being over but he’s a Manning just got a standing ovation and knows everyone watching and still play alright.True, but he did take the 2s on a 91 yard drive with Sark not holding them back like you might normally see in mop up duty. You are right Owens will beat him out.Tech was beat into submission by that time. He was 2 of 5.
In the limited game time I've seen of Arch, I still think he provides a more dynamic threat to this offense than Murphy. I think Murphy is and can be a P5 starter, but the athletic ability of Arch opens things up so much more. Before Quinn got hurt, his running ability in spots made the offense dangerous. He looked more calm, decisive, mobile and accurate than the two QBs above him. I’m not sure Maalik was any more ready than Arch especially given how often Maalik seems hurt. But Maalik still helped us get the Ws.
We saw more scrambling from QE before his injury, but I suspect he's under strict orders to avoid contact. We survived with MM for a couple of games, but clearly with a special season shaping up, keeping QE in games is paramount. In the limited game time I've seen of Arch, I still think he provides a more dynamic threat to this offense than Murphy. You saw a glimpse of that with Arch against TT. I'm not saying you turn him loose in the running game, but he has the ability to keep drives alive, similar to Colt. Maybe Murphy was injured, but he just seemed like a statue under a pass rush.
