If we are being brutally honest, E. Kerry is not really that much of a loss. He's a medium to low 3 star.
Didnt Kerry lose his starting job to an underclassman?  If so then very true but we do only have one remaining LB in this class.

Not sure if this is true but

Sure, we can be brutally honest, we're 5-7 and our defense looked like s**t most of the year, including LB.  LBs a needed position.
I totally agree with everything you said. Which is why we need to recruit better LB's that what we currently have. This kid does not fit that description. At best, he's another Luke Brockemeyer.

Watching the iron bowl and it’s clear that we don’t have near the speed on defense of upper level SEC teams. Watching some of their DBs play man defense is a beautiful thing.
Or the offensive line, or tight end, or the wr's except worthy or defensive line, or the linebackers or the special teams or the heart and fight...whew...

Per Gerry Hamilton:

Texas staff members expected by Tyler Junior College this week to see LB Xavier Benson (Pleasant Grove, Texas/TJC).

An offer, and OV set up would be the next steps after that coach visit this week.

Hamilton described Benson as a "tackling machine."

We have a resident East Texas member here who knows Benson.

Sark, Davis and Banks to do an in-home with Denver Harris this week.

If Sark drops Coleman and Joseph and replaces them with Raymond and Samples....now we're talking elite recruiters.

Go ahead and throw the two QB’s in the group. The only reason we had a close QB competition this year is because they are both mediocre AT BEST.  I realize a serviceable Oline would help but we need a difference maker at QB. Murphy will be a project and need at least 2 years to be ready. The only area we have on offense that doesn’t need immediate help is RB but that will change if we can’t find some men up front. Our guys are Charmin soft and it’s embarrassing.
Since halftime of the OU game this has been the worst football team I’ve seen at Texas.
Our coaches better be the greatest salesmen ever or have a suitcase full of cash on the recruiting trail or we are in huge trouble.

Crunching some numbers looks like defense needs 4-5 DBD and DL needs to portal ( lose) 4-5  same with LBS lose 4-5.

Offense needs 5-6 0L 2 WRS maybe 1 RB and lose a TE would make a balanced rostersome thing Texas has not had in several years.
