Nice win for the Horns. LT was tough as usual, seems like years ago Horns came out on wrong end of a 0-1 game. Winning pitcher was Terry something or another.

They threw a few good arms out there today, glad the horns could break through on offense.

La Tech left 13 on base. Gordon and Stevens make some big pitches in some really big moments.

Starting 2-0 is so important for this Texas team, particularly the pitching staff. Getting to 2-0 only using 3 relievers was pivotal as well.

We will go into Sunday night with our 3rd starter and everyone, except probably Stevens, available out of the bullpen. Our opponent will be playing the second game of a DH and will be working with their 4th best starter.

On the other side of the bracket from us, #8 East Carolina University is 2-0 and moving on to the regional championship.

Turned on the OKST/ARK game with OKST leading 10-8 going to top of the 8th.  Went downstairs to help my wife and walked back and the score was 16-10 ARK and still in the top of the 8th.  Talk about a meltdown by OKST

That included 4 consecutive walks or HBP with the bases loaded and then a grand slam!

So, happy to be in the bird's seat on the regional. Said that we got a better draw than could have imagined. Several thought LSU and/or the smelly pigs might have been in our regional. Glad neither was.

aggy, smelly pigs, LSU, Michigan, blow u, fake UT, East Carolina, VCU, Texas State, UConn, and others are also in the bird's seat in their regionals.

Both TCU and Tech won to stay alive in their regionals.

East Carolina is on a 20 game win streak, I believe, and doing it without their best pitcher. Still like our chances if going to their place for the super regionals.

Played at FSU, who was a higher seed several years ago and won with Huston closing out FSU to win the super regionals.

Per a friend squesse play on ESPN plus ( if you have it I do not) carried 12 hours of CWS yesterday. zAll games on Red Zone seperste for WCWS also.

No problem. It was a little touch and go, and I had no idea Texas was taking control of the ball game but we got her to bed.
It always seems that they don’t want to go to sleep when parents really need for them to go to bed.

It was that way with mine and now with my grandchildren.

4-3 la tech in the 5th. Most importantly for Texas, this game needs to be a knock down drag out battle. Use up your best remaining pitchers. Heck, let the game go 18 innings. AF upset probably favors Texas but mostly, just want whoever wins to be running on fumes.
