**2022 CWS Baseball Thread**

18 inningswas involved in a 18 inning game back in my softball days.

Our catcher led off top of 18 th with a tripple. and scored on sac. fly.

1-0 win both pitcher went all the way.

La Tech left 13 on base. Gordon and Stevens make some big pitches in some really big moments.

So, happy to be in the bird's seat on the regional. Said that we got a better draw than could have imagined. Several thought LSU and/or the smelly pigs might have been in our regional. Glad neither was.

aggy, smelly pigs, LSU, Michigan, blow u, fake UT, East Carolina, VCU, Texas State, UConn, and others are also in the bird's seat in their regionals.

Both TCU and Tech won to stay alive in their regionals.

East Carolina is on a 20 game win streak, I believe, and doing it without their best pitcher. Still like our chances if going to their place for the super regionals.

Played at FSU, who was a higher seed several years ago and won with Huston closing out FSU to win the super regionals.

Very nice draw for Texas to get the 4 seed in the regional championship game. Time to take advantage and advance!

Wind blowing out to left today, we will see some homeruns, probably for both teams. We know AF can smack the ball around a bit.

Top 1st: Hodo swinging bunt for an infield single. Get's picked off. Dylan Campbell walks.

Ivan Melendez 2 run HR! 30th of the year!

Top 1 cont: Stehly pop out. Followed by Austin Todd single to RCF. Messinger works a walk. Starting pitcher up to 24 pitches already. 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.

Top 1 cont: SS makes an incredible play deep in the hole to get Ardoin for the 3rd out BUT the 1st basemen steps off the bag for some unclear reason and Ardoin beats his foot back to the bag. Bases loaded, 2outs

Top 1 cont: passed ball on a pitch in the dirt allows all the runners to advance. Texas 3-0.

Walk re-loads the bag for Faltine. 

Action in the Air force bullpen as Texas looks to blow this one open early.

Top 1 still cont:

Trey Faltine lines one that bounces on the chalk down right field line. Ground rule double that limits Daly to 3rd and Faltine to 2nd. If not a triple, it at least would have scored Daly. 

Texas 5-0.

Top 1st won't end: New Pitcher.

Hodo up for 2nd time this inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Thought he walked on the 3-1 pitch. Strikes out on next pitch. 5-0 Texas

Softball update: Down 2-1 in the 4th, 3 run HR by JJ Smith and Texas now up 4-2.

Bottom 1st:

NCAA BA leader flys out on the first pitch to RF.

Walk to 2nd batter and a single. Melendez fields a tricky grounder to his right and gets the out at 2nd and then snags a grounder at him for out 3. 

Note - AF pitching ace Skene we faced Friday is also their catcher. Caught a DH today, making it unlikely he has much in the tank tomorrow to pitch if needed.

Top 2nd: Horns go down in order with a Dylan Campbell ground out, a Melendez warning track fly out to right field and a Stehly pop out.
