my copy of plano, texas the early years describes the families that settled in plano came from kentucky and tennessee.
My grandfather came from South Carolina. He never lived in the Plano area. He received the land due to his service in the Mier expedition but never lived there.

So, turns out CB Parrish Cobb's mom went to Texas

And his sister turned down some BBall schollie offers because she just wanted to go to Texas

I think this recruiting season just bought it to new heights of pure insanity. Mann I thought last years was like young and the restless. This year great googlely mooglely

As an African American i agree 100%
So Nick Saban, Les Miles, Harbaugh, Sweeny, and Urban must really suck at relating to black athletes then?

That has absolutely nothing to do with race but everything to do with his morals and ethics.  Strong is a standup guy because he has moral and ethics.  That is why parents and recruits (white or black) are attracted to Strong.

Couple things from Big Cigar --

Tommie Robinson?

--  ... they’re going to explore going after a Briles/Baylor-tree coach. The scheme, terminology, language, etc. is basically the same so they want someone who doesn’t have to learn the system before teaching the system. I’m told Baylor running backs coach Jeff Lebby is on the short list to replace Robinson. In a perfect world my guess is that Sterlin Gilbert would like to have him right now but that might not be possible.

Why?

--  .... because Lebby is Art Briles son-in-law but also because he just re-upped with Baylor.

Other coaching ....?

--  ... still a decent chance that Jay Norvell could seek greener pastures, and that would open the door for Bowling Green’s wide receiver coach Andrew Sowder. He’s a much surer bet than Lebby but again Jay has to leave for that to happen. As a betting man however, I fully expect Jay to take another position and if Sterlin has his druthers look for a Baylor-spread minded hire at the very least.

I am trying to catch up on what I have missed from last night.  I cant spend all day keeping up with every post just check in at night.

I am not trying to argue but I think its a little presumptious to say Charlie is a better recruiter because he relates to black athletes better than he would if he was white or mexican.  Last time I checked your skin color isnt the reason for your core values and ethics.  Charlie is good man because he has good values.  Period.

Good grief -- this is an article from today

It's tough to speculate when it comes to Kam, but it looks like, from this piece at least, he really was contemplating a flip

Memorial's Martin could be wavering on Baylor commitment

By David Thompson Updated 1:25 pm, Monday, January 18, 2016

Port Arthur Memorial's Kameron Martin has seemed like a rock solid Baylor commit since verbally pledging to the program in 2014.

But with National Signing day just a few weeks away, Martin may be wavering on Waco.

"I'm not saying I'm going to Texas," Martin said. "But things are opening up....."

 **********

And as far as the tattoo goes:

"They (Texas) don't care about the tattoo," Martin said.

Martin took an official visit to Baylor Friday and has a scheduled in-home visit with Texas Thursday.

"I'm still committed to Baylor," said Martin, who stated he's received interest from LSU and Miami. "But Texas is in the mix."
