I think Norvell returns next year, unless he lands a late OC job somewhere.

What is the purpose/reasoning for a 'silent commit'?

Reserve a spot but allows the commit to still be 'recruited'.  Some recruits want to wait for NSD or to make a production out of their announcement - but don't want to lose a spot in the meantime.

Well technically he's still under contract so he's got a job to do, plus this is the most important time of the year for a coach besides the season. I personally think Norvell will be back, idk if he's the best developer of talent but he's a good dude and is a great influence in the lives of young men

– Jamar King | JUCO DT: We recently introduced you to May JUCO grad, defensive tackle Jamar King (Mendocino C.C.). King holds an offer from Alabama and is also being recruited by Ohio State. We’ve gotten word that the Texas staff likes King and may be close to pulling the trigger on an offer. I spoke with King yesterday and he said that his transcript was sent to Texas and that he’s been told that they will look over his transcript to ensure he will have the necessary credits to graduate in May. If all looks good, I expect an offer to happen soon. While King is being courted by other big programs, he’s let us know that he definitely sees the opportunity to play right away at Texas.

"– Jamar King and JUCO Defensive Tackle Recruiting: Spoke to my sources regarding where things stand with JUCO DT Jamar King who the Texas staff is high on. Texas received King’s transcript this past weekend and apparently there are classes that will not transfer to the University of Texas. Not surprisingly, Texas will no longer be pursuing King.

I am told, however, that Texas is still in the market for a JUCO DT but my source also said that if Texas is able to flip Chris Daniels, they will not take a JUCO prospect.

I spoke to Daniels’ father about how he would describe his son’s commitment to Oklahoma and he said, “I think pretty solid…I ask him every few days and he seems pretty solid. Coach Strong went to college with my dad, and knows my family. My uncle played dline at the same school that Strong attended and won a championship so it’s a respect thing with himâ€.

Daniels will have in-home visits with TAMU and OU on Sunday and Monday respectively and I suspect that Texas will do their in-home soon after. – (Super K)"

"Basically I think I'll just take the visit this weekend, then go home early Sunday and kind of think it over.
