Hummer CBd Taylor to Texas

That makes the last 3 in a row

(Looks like LSU (they had most of the early CBs) may have eased off Taylor. But are still after Giles)

Both Texas &  Ole Miss will see Deontay Anderson today at Manvel

LSU in it as well

List of players we will see today

We have 7 coaches on the road (Strong, Sterlin, Bedford, Robinson, Traylor, Brick, BJM)

Probably more names than what we see here

Jeffrey McCulloch
Mark Jackson
Shane Buechele
Mike Williams
Dontavious Jackson
Alton Robinson
Tope Imade
Chris Daniels
Chris Brown
Erick Fowler
Denzel Okafor
Marcel Southall
Deontay Anderson
Jean Delance
Kyle Porter
Eric Cuffee
Andrew Fitzgerald
Brandon Jones

Strong and Gilbert are about to arrive at the Buechele home as of this post time

Highlights from the Horns247 Staff Chat:

- No news on current QBs. Shane Buechele will arrive on campus for good this weekend.

Jeff McCulloch is in the "highest confidence" category for Hummer & Holland at this point. It's going to come down to Texas and Notre Dame.

- Texas should feel good about both Stephon Taylor and D'Andre Christmas-Giles. Still 50/50 with Brandon Jones and Erick Fowler.

- Don't look for any late Florida offers this time around.

- Sterlin Gilbert is mostly focused on installing the offense right now. Mattox has been much more active than him when it comes to recruiting.

- DT Stephon Taylor and G Zach Shackelford should be on commit watch after this weekend.

- Keep an eye on LB Aaron Hansford and the JUCO DTs reported on the last couple of days.

- Right now, things are not looking good with Dontavious Jackson.

percentage chances:

Erick Fowler - 50
Eric Cuffee - 90
Jeffrey Mcculloch - 85
Brandon Jones - 50
Dontavious Jackson- 40
DCG - 65
Stephon Taylor- 70

- On DT recruiting:

Two more DTs are a must this cycle. If Texas don't get both of Taylor and DCG, they're still in the mix with Mike Williams and Chris Daniels, but both are long shots. JUCO DTs likeJamar King and Oddie Granger are in play. Maybe a late look at Darius Anderson.

- ATH Grayland Arnold is the staff's backup if CB Obi Eboh flips to Stanford. Likewise, OLB Aaron Hansford is the staff's backup for LB/DE Erick Fowler if he sticks with LSU.

- Stanford, LSU and A&M are all big threats to Texas on the recruiting trail now.

Kelvin Lucky is still set to visit on the last weekend. He's a secondary option.

- The staff wants Brandon Jones and Deontay Anderson equally badly. Pushing for both very hard.

- On Kyle Porter: He'll be at Texas. I'll take Porter's own words over anybody else's considering he doesn't talk to anybody about recruiting. He even told me he doesn't like talking to his mom about it lol.

Someone on another board says he spoke to Charlie last night in Houston at the Bear Bryant Award.

He says Strong said he expect 18 visitors this weekend

And he also claims Strong said he "really only needs half of them."

No Norvell on the road? hmmmmm

Do you think the other highly rated safeties get their feelings hurt cause Traylor keeps calling Jones the Best safety? I know he is the highest ranked but I also realize the prima dona's some of the kids are.

If Traylor was assigned tor recruit them then maybe, but he's just going after the guys on his list and trying everything he can do it get them in the bag.

They say we have made it clear to Jones and Anderson that we want them both

And the two players have said they talked about playing together

Of the schools recruiting them, I think only Texas can offer them that chance

Anderson will be tough to shake free from the grips of Miss, but we are putting in the effort
