Good lord, out with it already. What is this "amazing surprise" we have all be promised now, better be good before everyone sentences this poster to a date with coach Moore in the pit.
The Defense will officially be nicknamed, finally.

From a poster on another site. Mod at that site confirmed in a response.

"Great news to come.  Only I know and you will know when it happens.  Just hold on."

I'm thinking they're talking about a silent commit, one that we're supposedly written off now. And I think his name is Daylon Mack.
Sorry, but that doesn't make any sense to me. Are you saying that Daylon called CS and told him he was cancelling his OV and visiting Auburn, announcing he was no longer interested in UT, and by the way I want to commit.

Sounds like I'm getting punk'd by Daylon if this is true.

Mack is not going to sign with Texas.

I think Daylon's track record in this suggest he's certainly capable of saying one thing and doing another. He's changing way too fast and with little common sense involved. That suggests to me that there's some sort of playful aspect to this which would lead you and I both to think we're being punk'd here.

I don't think anything is certain with Daylon Mack except more change . . or more of the same. And I don't think anyone (outside of the staff, possibly) knows what he's going to do.

I'll say this though, although I tire of his act I do think he's the best DT prospect I've seen come out of Texas in at least a decade. In the all-star game against high-quality competition, he was receiving his mail at the QB-RB exchange point in the backfield. Nobody could block him at all. Wherever he goes, that's what he will do. My God I want him at Texas. lol

Everything you say I can agree with and we may have a chance to get him. It still doesn't make sense that Mack is a silent commitment. HD has said that CS is not taking commitments on the phone, you have to OV.

PD – the idea that certain spots have been reserved came from a post from (and by) HD yesterday. The idea put forth was that the staff has been notified of the intentions of certain recruits and those spots are taken. IMO, that equals a silent commit(s).

Keep in mind, Wheeler committed to UT without having taken an OV to Texas. And that happened a week or so ago.

And so, if HD said, then it's got to be true ;)  Kind of like, if it's on the internet, then it's got to be true.

I can believe we have silent commitments in the way you described (Boyd, Hill are good possibilities).  I can also believe we are reserving a spot for Mack, but I doubt from what just happened that he has told Coach Strong he's coming to UT.

Apparently he is now a 2015

(if we can believe Alabama local news reporting)

Think of what a badass TE he would make if he can catch the ball

6'8 running a 4.6

Clarington on the other side

A pic of Prince Tega Wanogho Jr playing DE -- interesting opponent gear

But did Wheeler attend a UT camp or take an "unofficial" visit or two?

Semantics?

Not really. One of the points of the OV is that the parents come as well. Everything gets rolled out. A pitch is made, etc.,

Stopping by to say hi or watch a practice is not the same and UT really does nothing for him on a visit like that.

Not sure about any camps.

So the only gets that I would consider a "suprise" and consider great news is one of three prospects. Mack, Murray, or Miller.
