Missing the trade between Minnesota and Atlanta.

Minnesota gets:

6th overall pick, 37th overall pick, and steven jackson

Atlanta gets:

Peterson, 40th overall pick, and Loadholt

OP looks fine SF. Only thing I notice to be different is the Trades Format, which wasn't that big of a deal, and the GM Hyperlink Board but with three picks remaining...that isn't that big of a deal either.

With the 53rd Overall Pick in the 2014 Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select:

Position: Defensive Tackle

Name: Kelcy Quarles

School: University of South Carolina

Boasting NFL size and a relentless motor, Quarles picked up the slack while Clowney took plays off by leading the team in tackles for loss and sacks. Adding depth to the trenches for a player originally slotted in the 2nd to early 3rd round was an easy decision.

I think this Draft stops at Round 3. But maybe we can have another contest, with people who want to continue on, to pick up additional teams of those who don't.
If a lot people didn't want to go on, maybe we could shift gears and get competitive with the draft game site that was mentioned earlier.

For people that don't know, once you register, you just pick a team and draft for them. It scores you at the end, and we could just post our drafts and scores. Example:

Your score is: 4502 (Drafting Ability: B, Player Quality A, Future Draft Picks: N/A)

Your Picks:

Round 1 Pick 3 (JAX): Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville (A)

Round 2 Pick 1: Kyle Van Noy, OLB, Brigham Young (A-)

Round 2 Pick 7 (JAX): Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia (B+)

Round 3 Pick 3 (OAK): Deone Bucannon, SS, Washington State (A)

Round 4 Pick 1: DaQuan Jones, DT, Penn State (A)

Round 4 Pick 7 (OAK): Shayne Skov, ILB, Stanford (B+)

Round 5 Pick 1: Phillip Gaines, CB, Rice (B-)

Round 6 Pick 1: Brandon Coleman, WR, Rutgers (A)

Round 7 Pick 1: Dri Archer, WR, Kent State (B-)

Your Future Picks:

2015 Round 1 Pick

2016 Round 1 Pick

I was drafting for the Texans. Not my best score, but I'd be pretty stoked with this draft in real life.

With the 95th pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos select:

position: CB

Player: Walt Aikens

School: Liberty

Sure! I am in!

And, boom goes the dynamite! That's a wrap folks! I say we do write ups on what our teams have done so far and what the plan is for each of them through rounds 4-7 and FA.

Oakland

Trades:

None

Picks:

5: Khalil Mack, OLB – Buffalo

36: Ra'Shede Hageman, DT – Minnesota

67: Jimmy Garoppolo, QB - Eastern Illinois

Commentary:

I played the Raiders pretty straight-forward and attempted to fill their biggest needs without getting cute. I initially planned on grabbing Bridgewater, but he was taken one pick before I was up, so I grabbed Mack (who I love as a player). Hageman was also a big get for me, early in the second. I feel like he’s definitely a first round pick at this point. Finally, I grabbed Garoppolo in the third. When I whiffed on Bridgewater, I knew this was the guy I wanted to pick up, as there was no value at the position early in the second I knew there wouldn’t be, unless Bortles or Manziel fell). I ended up getting 3 players that all filled huge needs. Pick-wise, this is probably the draft I’m most proud of, and I feel like a true Raider fan would be happy with it as well.

Tampa Bay

Trades:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded Darrelle Revis to the New Orleans Saints for their 3rd Round Pick (#91) and 2015 4th Round Pick.

Picks:

7: Jake Matthews, OT - Texas A&M

38: Scott Crichton, DE - Oregon State

91: Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB – Nebraska

Commentary:

I also played the Bucs pretty straight for the most part. I may not have got a ton of value for Revis, but I feel like he would have just left at the first opportunity anyway, and this way I got some picks for the long-term. As far as the gap in the d-backfield, I addressed that in round 3, taking Jean-Baptiste out of Nebraska. I feel like the guy is flying a little under the radar due to a slow combine 40, but he just blew that out of the water at his pro-day. I feel like he will be taken in the real draft sooner than he did here. Tampa Bay also needed help on the OL, and when he was giftwrapped for me at 7, I couldn’t pass on Matthews. He was easily BPA, and he filled a big need for me. Lastly, I snagged Crighton in the second. When I read scouting reports about this guy, they remind me a lot of what they said about Watt when he was coming out. I’m not saying Crighton is in the same ballpark talent-wise, but his work-ethic, and intangibles are definitely on par, and that can certainly lead to him becoming a steal at this point.

Buffalo:

Trades:

The Buffalo Bills traded EJ Manual and Marquise Goodwin to the Kansas City Chiefs for their 2014 3rd round pick (#87) and their 2015 2nd round pick.

The Buffalo Bills traded Jairus Byrd to the Philadelphia Eagles for their second round pick (#54) and Nate Allen.

The Kansas City Chiefs traded Brandon Albert and their 1st Round Pick ( #23) to the Buffalo Bills for their 2nd Round Pick (#41) and 3rdRound Pick (#87) and their 2015 1st Round Pick.

Picks:

9: Johnny Manziel, QB - Texas A&M

23: Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, FS - Alabama

54: Chris Borland, LB - Wisconsin

73: Troy Niklas, TE - Notre Dame

Commentary:

I got a little looser with Buffalo and I treated it as if I were the GM. I’m plenty skeptical of EJ’s future with the team, so I drafted Manziel and traded Manuel. It’s possible Manuel becomes a really good quarterback, but I felt like it was worth it, due to Manziel’s ceiling being higher. I felt like Byrd did not want to be with Buffalo anymore, so without the presence of FA, I accepted when approached with a reasonable trade. I then turned around and drafted Dix with a pick I gained in another swap. Problem solved. Lastly, with the huge need for an OT, I jumped at the chance to get Albert in a trade. I gave up a lot to do it, but I felt I got more in return, gaining a good, starting tackle and a first round pick this year (used on Dix). With my last two picks, I picked a surefire starter at ILB with Borland and then grabbed Niklas, which also filled a huge need.

San Francisco 49ers

TRADES

Trade: QB Colin Kaepernick, WR Michael Crabtree, OT Joe Staley, HB Marcus Lattimore, SF's 2014 #30th Overall Pick, SF's 2015 1st Round Pick and SF's 2015 4th Round pick to the Indianapolis Colts for QB Andrew Luck, HB Trent Richardson and WR Darius Heyward-Bey.

Trade: ILB Navarro Bowman to Baltimore Ravens for Baltimore’s 2014 #17 Overall Pick and 2015 2nd Round pick.

Trade: Second Round #56th and Third Round #94th pick to Seattle for Second Round #44th pick.

PICKS

1st Round #17th = WR, Marqise Lee, Southern California

2nd Round #44th = LB, Kyle Van Noy, BYU

2nd Round #61st = WR, Allen Robinson, Penn St

3rd Round 77th = WR, Mike Davis, Texas

SUMMARY

The 49ers organization are more than winners in the 2014 draft. They will be kings for many years to come. With a deep team, the 49ers leveraged their current pro-bowlers for possibly the best QB of all time and fresh new crop of players to contribute to their dynasty run for the next decade.

Andrew Luck is Mr. Everything. He replaces errant Kaepernick, especially during crunch time. Defenses now have to decide to defend 1) a QB with deceptive speed that can throw anywhere accurately or 2) a stout OL with a haus RB in Gore. They have no idea what’s coming. 49ers have a solid OL already and losing Staley does hurt, but drafting a couple more OL in rounds 4-7 and moving Iupati to LT could sure up one of the best YOUNG OLs in the NFL. Losing Crabtree isn’t a heartbreaker as he had an injury prone career and Marqise Lee is a younger, healthier version of Crabtree. Luck is a happy man: New weapons Allen Robinson and Mike Davis will complement Vernon Davis and Anquan Boldin and speedy Darius Heyward-Bey quite nicely. As for Navarro Bowman (2010, 3rd Round Pick), the trade is essentially a steal for the 49ers. Having the best and deepest LB corp in the NFL, we were able to trade away a player coming off of a severe injury and load up with a pick for need. We drafted Kyle Van Noy to compete with Cory Lemonier (2013, 3rd Round Pick).

In 2013, the 49ers were 24th in Total Offense. I foresee this skyrocketing to the top 5 in 2014. The top 5 defense will remain strong and sound.

New York Giants

TRADES

Trade: WR Rueben Randle and 2015 2nd Round Pick to the New England Patriots for OL Logan Mankins and WR Aaron Dobson

PICKS

1st Round, #12 Overall = OL, Taylor Lewan, Michigan

2nd Round, #43rd Overall = OL, David Yankey, Stanford

3rd Round, #74th Overall = TE, CJ Fiedorowicz , Iowa

SUMMARY

Eli Manning had his worst career year last season due to an inept offensive line. To protect the franchise, we traded for an Pro-Bowler OL, Logan Mankins. He is 31 years old, but foresee another 5 good years in him. He is similar to a Jeff Saturday. To beef up the OL, we also drafted Taylor Lewan and David Yankey. This will solidify the OL for many years to come.

Since Jeremy Shockey left, the Giants haven’t had a solid play maker at TE. CJ Fiedorowicz will complement Victor Cruz and Mario Manningham, and Aaron Dobson.

The Giants will add more depth on defense by drafting CB/DE/LB in Rounds 4-7 and through free agency.

NEW YORK JETS

TRADES

Trade: 3rd Round, 69th Overall Pick and 2015 1st Round Pick to the Arizona Cardinals for WR, Michael Floyd.

Trade: 2nd Round, 49th Overall Pick and 3rd Round, 80th Overall Pick to the Cleveland Browns for 1st Round, #26th Overall Pick

PICKS

1st Round, #18 Overall = TE, Eric Ebron, North Carolina

1st Round, #26 Overall = WR, Kelvin Benjamin, Florida State University

SUMMARY

The NY Jets were 29th in points per game in 2013. Geno Smith had no weapons. We traded for Michael Floyd, one of the game’s best young wide receivers in the NFL. To add to a set of core weapons, we selected Eric Ebron. His skill set is similar to Vernon Davis. The trade for Kelvin Benjamin was worth it because of his length and size like Plaxico Burress.

Jets defense was one of the best in the league. In Rounds 4-7 and free agency, we will address depth at CB, RB, and DL/LB.

Minnesota Vikings

Trades:

Trade 1 (Atlanta Falcons):

Received:

1st Round Pick (#6 QB Blake Bortles)

2nd Round Pick (#37 RB Carlos Hyde)

Steven Jackson

Traded:

Adrian Peterson

Phil Loadhold

2014 2nd Round Pick (#40 DE Jackson Jeffcoat)

Summary:

While giving away one of the best backs in the league, the Vikings selected their top rated QB in the draft that will be the corner stone of Mike Zimmer's time with Minnesota. Additionally, adding their top ranked rb prospect and an older Steven Jackson, this will be a rb by committee approach.

Trade 2 (Cleveland Browns):

Received:

Josh Gordon

Traded :

Cordarelle Patterson

2015 1st round pick

*2015 Conditional Pick

* if Gordon makes 1st team All Pro in 2014, Minnesota will give up their 2nd Round Pick in 2015, otherwise they will give up their 2015 3rd round pick.

Summary:

This blockbuster trade sent one of the top young wideouts in the game and will provide an immediate safety blanket/home run threat (95 yard td)/straight up beast for the young Blake Bortles. Josh Gordon came off a career year where he led the league in receiving (1,646 yards (117.6 ypg) on 87 catches and 9 tds in 14 games) and that was with the poor qb performances out of Cleveland. The young nucleus of Blake Bortles, Carlos Hyde, and Josh Gordon will kick this season off right.

Draft

1st round 6th: QB, Blake Bortles, UCF

1st Round 8th: OLB, Anthony Barr, UCLA

2nd Round 37th: RB, Carlos Hyde, OSU

3rd Round 72th: OT, Seantrel Henderson, Miami

3rd Round 96th: DE, Marcus Smith, Louisville

The draft, as a whole, has all the pieces to be huge in the upcoming seasons with the potential of having a franchise quarterback, starting rb, two outside pass rushers that Mike Zimmer will unleash on the NFC North, and a developmental Tackle who is a lot to prove.

Indianappolis Colts

Trade (San Francisco 49ers):

Received:

Colin Kaepernick

Michael Crabtree

Joe Staley

Marcus Lattimore

2014 1st Round Pick (#30: LB, Ryan Shazier, OSU)

2015 1st Round Pick

Traded:

Andrew Luck

Trent Richardson

Darius Heyward-Bey

Summary:

While giving up a once in a generation talent like Luck does hurt, the Colts had too many glaring holes to make a run. The addition of Kaepernick gives the Colts a top young qb who can make plays few other quarterbacks can. The addition of Crabtree provides additional firepower to a receiving core that desperately needed and allows some of the attention on T.Y. Hilton to be relieved. Joe Staley is now the unquestioned leader of a previously atrocious OL that needed help. Marcus Lattimore will have every opportunity to show that he can regain his form as one of the best rbs coming out of both HS and College a few years ago.

Without any picks in the 1st round in the 2014 draft, the Colts were able to add one this year and additional 2015 1st round pick.

Draft:

1st Round Pick: LB, Ryan Shazier, OSU

2nd Round Pick: C, Marcus Martin, USC

3rd Round Pick: CB, Pierre Desir, Lindenwood

The Colts were hindered by the trade earlier in the year that send their 2014 1st round pick to the Browns for the recently traded Trent Richardson. Through the trade with the 49ers, they were able to sure up key positions while adding value through the draft. Shazier will see a lot of 1-on-1 match-ups opposite of the reigning AFC Defensive POY Robert Mathis. Marcus Martin will come in and have every opportunity to win the starting job and has the upside to be a pro-bowl caliber player. As a prospect, Pierre Desir has everything you are looking for as a corner and the Colts believe they got a steal with this 3rd round selection.

Kansas City Chiefs

Trade (Bills)

Received:

EJ Manual

Maquise Goodwin

2014 2nd Round Pick ( #41 CB, Bradley Roby, OSU)

2014 3rd Round Pick (#87 WR, Brandon Coleman, Rutgers)

2015 1st Round Pick

Traded:

Brandon Albert

2014 1st Round Pick (#23, FS, Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, Alabama)

2015 2nd Round Pick

Summary:

While trading away Pro-Bowler Brandon Albert was difficult, the soon-to-be FA was traded officially before he hit the market and will be replaced by the 2013 #1 overall pick Eric Fisher (started 13 games at RT in 2013). The addition of EJ Manual gives Andy Reid a qb with the assets he covets (skills similar to McNabb, they had very similar rookie years) while being able to groom under Alex Smith. Maquise Goodwin will replace Dexter McCluster who left via FA this off-season. The additional draft picks acquired will be beneficial in building up the Chiefs to a juggernaut. Bradley Roby and Brandon Coleman will fill voids that the Chiefs had this past season. Coleman has the potential of being Brandon Marshal 2.0. Roby can come in and play nb which was a weakness for this chiefs team last season.

Draft:

2nd Round Pick: #41 CB, Bradley Roby, OSU

3rd Round Pick: #87 WR, Brandon Coleman, Rutgers

Cleveland Browns

TRADES

Trade: 1st Round, #4 Overall, 2nd Round, #35 Overall and 3rd Round, #83 Overall to Houston for 1st Round, #1 Overall, 3rd Round, #65 Overall and 7th Round, #195 Overall

Trade: 1st Round, #26 Overall to New York Jets for 2nd Round, #49 Overall and 3rd Round, #80 Overall

Trade: WR Josh Gordon to Minnesota Vikings for WR Cordarelle Patterson, Minnesota's 2015 1st Round Pick and 2015 2nd Round pick OR 3rd Round pick (the latter pick is conditional on Gordon making the 2014 1st Team All Pro or not)

PICKS

1st Round #1st = OLB34, JaDeveon Clowney, South Carolina

2nd Round #49th = OG, Gabe Jackson, Mississippi State

3rd Round #65th = WR, Davante Adams, Fresno State

3rd Round #71st = OT, Joel Bitonio, Nevada

3rd Round #80th = CB, Keith McGill, Utah

SUMMARY

With the Browns, I just did not believe that any of the QB's in this draft class were worth a 1st round pick and I did not want Wheedon part 2, so I opted to pass on them all and go up to get the once in a decade type talent that is Clowney. New Head Coach Pettine should be able to scheme Clowney and Mingo into a ferocious tandem that will plague the AFC North for years. We also added the versatile big CB/S McGill to help layer some depth in the secondary and allow us to move Skrine to the Nickel. On offense we loaded up with young, talented OL that can slot in next to the All Pro's Mack and Thomas to give any QB/RB some time to let plays develop. Finally we added a true #2 receiver to pair with Patterson that should free up Cameron over the middle.

In Rounds 4-7 (two #4's, a 5th, 6th and two #7's) and free agency, the Browns will address depth at S, ILB, WR(slot) and RB while looking for a veteran QB (Schaub) to hold down the job along with Hoyer for a season until the 2015 draft.

2015 - they will go into this draft with much better QB prospects armed with Minn's 1st and likely 3rd round draft picks in order to secure Marcus Mariotta, Jameis Winston or Brett Hundley, all of which project as much better suited to the NFL game than the 2014 crop.

Arizona Cardinals

TRADES

Trade: WR Michael Floyd to the New York Jets for the Jets' 3rd Round, #65th Overall and their 2015 1st Round pick

PICKS

1st Round, #20th Overall = OLB34, Kony Ealy, Missouri

2nd Round, #52nd Overall = OL, Morgan Moses, Virginia

3rd Round, #69th Overall = RB, Jeremy Hill , LSU

3rd Round, #84th Overall = SS, Dion Bailey , USC

SUMMARY

With Arizona, I went BPA to help what was a top 10 defense that struggled to generate a pass rush last season. Kony Ealy is every bit of the 3-4 rush LB and is athletic enough to drop into coverage. Moses give us a true LT to protect Palmer's blindside while we also get a healthy Jonathan Cooper back and Hill gives the Cards a big back to pair with Stephon Taylor. The safety help was needed and Bailey is a definite upgrade over Yeremiah Bell. Paired with the Honey Badger and Peterson, the secondary is shaping up nicely.

In Rounds 4-7 and free agency, the Cardinals will address depth at CB, ILB, DE and OG/OT.

Arizona also goes into 2015 armed with the Jets 1st round draft pick as they seek to secure one of the top franchise QB's in that draft.

Carolina Panthers

TRADES

None

PICKS

1st Round, #28th Overall = OT, Cyrus Kouandjio, Alabama

2nd Round, #60th Overall = WR, Jordan Matthews, Vanderbilt

3rd Round, #92nd Overall = CB, Jaylen Watkins , Florida

SUMMARY

I went straight forward with the Panthers and simply found the best possible replacement for LT after Jordan Gross' retirement then finally gave SuperCam a true #1 receiver in Matthews who might have been the steal of the draft at the end of round two. He doesn't have the speed of Hopkins, but he is not far off and is bigger. Matthews is the perfect West Coast catch and run WR much like his uncle Jerry Rice. The rest of the draft will be spent trying to rebuild the secondary (Watkins is a superb start) and trying to add another weapon or two at WR/TE

In Rounds 4-7 and free agency, the Panthers will address depth at CB, S, WR and OG.

Welp, can't let it go 24 hours without a post. I did the draft game again and this time, I took the Cowboys. I'm a Texans fan, of course, but I figured some of you might find it interesting. I don't know the team that well, though.

3rd Round, #94th Overall = DT, Kelsey Quarles, South Carolina

SUMMARY

Seattle was THE TOP defense in the league last year and with the opportunity to get a supremely talented WR like Sammy Watkins and pair him up with Percy Harvin, Seattle will add an elite offense to an already elite defense. The defending Super Bowl champions got even better.

Though, losing Kam did hurt a bit, Lamarcus Joyner is one of the most versatile and fundamentally sound DB's in this years draft. Lamarcus is a game changer and has exceptional football instincts, work ethic, and leadership skills that will fill the safety or CB void. Kelsey Quarles adds good depth to an already elite defensive line with his NFL ready physique and motor.

In Rounds 4-7 and free agency, the Seahawks, masters of uncovering gems in the latter rounds, will add depth and future Pro Bowlers at TE, CB, OT, DE.
