    Big 12 Expansion Project

Pac-12 needs CST or EST markets badly. UH badly needs into the P5. Could be a good match, but I'm not sure if the Pac-XX would consider adding a high school. The Big 12 should absolutely NOT add UH. Ever. No need to allow a 6th P5 school in Texas; just another in-state school to recruit...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

So you are getting rid of 1 Big 12 and 8 ACC schools in this "merger"? It cannot happen because the ACC needs 11 votes to make any decision, so the SEC and Big Ten would have to get at least 4 of the schools to make it happen (what school would vote in favor of expelling itself to the Go5...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

Cool. Looks like the conference will be relegated to the Go5 after OU leaves. Good luck.

    Big 12 Expansion Project

Honestly, I think we need to give Baylor the boot. NCAA probably won't, but should hand down the death penalty since this is far worse than any SMU, UNC, or even PSU. If that were to happen, I'd like to see Cincy replace BU for 2017. UH would come in and compete immediately, but Cincy would be...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

And TCU has always been my 1B since I started following college sports around 2002. First thing's first: the Big 12 needs 80% of votes to disband and make the GOR and exit fees null. So if there is a merger with the SEC, there would be 5 Texas schools, making for awkward divisions and not...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

SEC and Big 12 probably average similar academics. It's just that the SEC has Ole Miss and 1-2 others that really bring its standing down. The SEC West would be awesome. If there was some way to get the MS schools out, it'd be even better! I've been thinking of Pro/Rel for about 5-6 years. It'd...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

See mine is: 1. SEC (16, with OU; 2 8-team divisions) 2. SEC (24-team merger, replacing BU and TCU with UH and Cincy; 4 6-team divisions) 3. Pac-16 (4 divisions with OU, OSU, & Tech; guarantee of no late games for our division) 4. Indy (ACC non-football) 5. Big Ten (At least 18, with...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

I've seen a lot of people put the SEC last on their list, and I just can't figure out why. There is obvious disdain for the conference since it won so many "national championships," but it offers the best landing spot for Texas outside of the Big 12. In the Big Ten we trade Ames for Iowa City...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

Read "The Dude's" article and you'll see I was on topic. Even still, FSU and others are certainly in play until the ACC gets its network.

    Big 12 Expansion Project

"Doesn't matter who the Big 12 adds." Huh? It certainly would matter, as FSU has a much larger market than Memphis or Cincinnati. He is right on one thing: if the ACC doesn't get it's network, some schools will have to leave in order to keep up with their non-conference rivals and peers. If the...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

Fair point. The only incentives I can think of would be to make the Big 12 more appealing to power programs and to chip away at the "Texas is a bully" perception. You don't do something like that to attract Group of 5 programs. Can't think of anything else though, unless projections (that do...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

You are 100%. I was thinking the same thing: he's jealous that Texas has a network and OU doesn't. And that is simply NOT a good reason for the conference to expand. The Big 12 is disadvantaged, but not because of not having 12 or 14 teams. I find it interesting that the Big 12 and Pac-12 have...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

This guy is a hack. "We'll stay in the Big 12 if you fire Beebe, replace him with my friend, and have a GOR." "We want expansion! If though our team made the playoff this year, we're at a disadvantage!"

That's what the addition of WVU was supposed to do. WVU was supposed to mean we've chosen east over west, but here we are...

Those were rumors. We wanted Arkansas and ND. Those 2 didn't want us.

    Big 12 Expansion Project

Agree on only expanding within the P5. ACC schools are locked in with a $50M exit fee and GoR through 2026. However, it takes 11 of the 15 schools to disband the conference, and subsequently the exit fee and GoR. Getting the SEC and Big Ten on board -- with all 3 going to 16 schools -- would...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

I completely disagree with that writer's stance. Why water down the conference now when it would still be top tier of the Group of 5 if some schools didn't find new P5 homes? Texas, OU, and KU don't have to worry. OSU and Tech appear to be locks for the Pac-XX if the other 3 left. WVU would...

    Death Of The Big 12?

This guy doesn't understand that Texas and OU control how things will go. 1. Team with the SEC and Big Ten to raid the ACC -VT & NCSU to SEC -UVA & UNC to Big Ten -FSU, Miami, GT, Clemson, Louisville, ND/Cincy/Pitt to Big 12 -BC, Duke, Syracuse, and ND/Pitt could look to the Pac-16...

    Big 12 Expansion Project

Mine is: Texas, A&M, Tech, Houston, BU, TCU, SMU, OU, OSU, Arky, LSU, Tulane. (I'd love to see Rice, but Tulane has a brand new stadium that it would fill, while would also give LSU a run for its money. Arguably, the same could be said about Arky St and SMU, but I won't go there here.)

    Big 12 Expansion Project

Yeah I remember seeing that. It was a joke. SEC had to buy T3 rights back that were already sold, and that was costly, plus all the other costs of starting a network. I think the cap will be around $10-15M, but who knows.
