Kansas State has caught everyone's attention in the past couple of weeks due to convincing wins and some nice offensive output. They seemed to have turned a QB problem into a successful QB strategy, using both QBs during the game for different roles.

The Cats are on a roll and are playing their best ball of the season.

Can Texas beat this team with a 2nd string QB?

That depends on which Texas team shows up. If we see the one we saw in Tuscaloosa, we will beat Kansas State. If we see the one that almost lost to Houston, we're in trouble.

My hope here is that our defense can answer the call and control the running game. Force KSU to beat you in the air. They are decent, not great, passing. We have to shut down the rushing game if we are to win.

Likewise, we must establish the running game on the offensive side of the ball. If we can't run, we're putting a ton of pressure on the arm of Murphy. We must also end the troubles we have in the red zone. With the weight we have up front, we should be able to bully a defense to get two lousy yards.

I like Texas in this one. We do play inspired when we play at home.

Texas 34
Kansas State 28

Focusing on stopping the run will further expose our already suspect db's, but we do enough to get by.
Texas 24
K St. 21

If we rush for over 200yds (or close to it) and Adonai/Sanders are our leading WRs, we win this by 2TDs.

If MM turns it over twice and throws 30+ attempts, we are likely in trouble or we barely get by.

I like that we are at home and are getting healthy. We mix up some things and win by 10. Texas 28 KSU 18.

I'm picking KSU 27-24.

Too many things not going well for Texas currently with turnovers, turnovers on downs, red zone inefficiency, coaching mental lulls, injuries, not sure what D will show up, etc.

Texas has been able to get away with sloppy play for the past two weeks, but KSU won't gift them opportunities over and over.

I expect them to key on our running game and make Maalik's inexperience beat them.

I think their offense will take Houston's simple approach of aggressively attacking the D's weaknesses, even if it means running the same plays repeatedly.

All that being said, absolutely a winnable game if players bring the effort and play clean, and the coaching staff doesn't kill any momentum.

It has to be a performance up there with how they played against Alabama and Baylor imo, and maybe they will put forth that effort knowing how much is riding on this contest.

Lose and your playoff hopes are over, and then you'll need some help to even make the conference game.

Shoot your buck by eight drop him off at Detroit processing plant. Then find a Horn fan to watch game with.

After Horns victory go back for afternoon hunt. Do not forget Houston's crossing site if there is time.

Not predicting a score, but we talk about the improvement of a team from Week 1 to Week 2 in a season. I'm hoping MM has that same kind of jump. He can make all the throws, just needs more reps.
