Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

I like Sam Acho. Pretty insightful, but still learning the media ropes. Emmanuel on the other hand, is just not my cup of tea. Smart as can be, but using his wit to just get to say something controversial to get a reaction.

Few notes from this morning's scrimmage.

J. Whittington left with either an arm or shoulder injury and did not return.

X. Worthy did not participate in the scrimmage.

J. Brooks was the starting RB.

K. Robinson scored on run of 45 yards on a simple dive play.

A. Manning scored on a spectacular 70 yard run.

T. Goosby ran with the 2's at LT behind Banks.

Would think they would be very cautious with J Witt and  X, so not surprising they're out temporarily at least.

Goosby at 2nd string behind Banks is surprising.

Luckily Hamilton at IT said Whittington's issue is minor.

He also said Arch is "ahead of schedule. Future is bright."

A few notes from TFB...

- Ethan Burke is winning the other DE spot opposite Barryn Sorrell, and IT has been saying the same.

- if Sark decides to use a sixth OL at times this year, they've been working on that with Malik Agbo.

Not sure how to react with QB making 70 yd run. He is more like his grandfather than uncles. Where was defense?

They said it was spectacular, and we do have a really good offensive line. That’s from the fwiw department, which isn’t a lot, but hey!? You saved $10.

The Cowboys are playing their 1st preseason game, and the announcers are really impressed with Overshown, #35.

I am really happy for Agent O.  He seems like a great guy with a big heart who gives anything he does all of his energy.

He is holding his own or playing better than 2nd and 3rd year, or more veteran players. The Cowboys got a bargain in the 3rd round.

Go Agent 0!

Hook ‘em!

NOTE:  Malilk Jefferson played on the Dallas practice squad last year & he evidently doing pretty well in training camp this year.  He played some in the second half, but injured his foot.  They wrapped it.  He tried to go back out, but could not.

Hope he heals fast and can show enough to make the next cut.

I am really pulling for 35 & 46 to both make the final roster!

Hook ‘em, to all the Horns out there!

No one should discount Watts, or the others.

Folks, I know we have people on this board who have been “dudes” themselves.  Not me.  I was a gal, and a pretty decent one, too.  Still pretty fit, for my age.

Let me explain something for those of you who have forgotten.  When you have lots of dudes on the field, they are each going to get the better of the other from time to time.  Remember?

That’s why a scrimmage is a zero sum game. If the offense wins, fans say, “Oh no, what’s wrong with the defense?”

And, vice versa!

But you guys aren’t just fans, you are knowledgeable. So, enjoy it!

Want a giggle, go read Tex Ags for a few minutes.  Someone posed a question asking what would happen if they won it all this year-in football!

I kid you not!  Enjoy.

The said Whittington participated in conditioning after, so good sign that it is minor.

Arch seems to perhaps have the edge for the back up job. MM did not have a great scrimmage.

SIR, as you know been trying to get my yard repaired.  Side yard inside fence was inundated with a variety of weeds because lawn care super was lazy.  Also knew I had drainage issue.

It was a relatively small job for big guys with building boom still happening.  Think I got one of them & for a really good price because water restrictions all around us-but not here.

They completed job on Thursday, precisely one week after we started back to school!  I am watering 2x day (sod), ugh, with sprinklers because HOA controls irrigation-ouch!  One of them is before at leave for work. So, get up at 4am to do it!

Luckily, we don’t have water restrictions, yet!  Also had a few drainage problems resolved.

Longhorns love good grass! (See, it’s related!)

Wish me luck!!

Hook ‘em!
