Some theories:

Sark still has NFL interest in the near future especially if we win a championship.

He brought in Muschamp as a potential successor since Muschamp stills wants to Texas HC job.

But Muschamp hasn’t been promised the job but a chance at it especially if we don’t get a candidate we want.

If we bring in Gideon, he’s being promised the future DC role should Muschamp become HC. More grooming.

I love Gideon (outside of 08 tech tackle angle) but prefer T Rob.

I remember his drop of a certain interception more than any missed tackle.
I still like Robinson more because of his ability to recruit.

Per Gerry, WR coach Chris Jackson may be leaving for the NFL. He also said that TCU WR coach Malcom Kelly has expressed interest.

The interest might wane from NFL perspective if D regresses & Offense

If hire backfires on D and offense continues stagnant. Sark might ne getting lot heat. People are questioning this firing.

Sark will get a lot of heat if he doesn't win enough games. He obviously understands this, and it's safe to assume he will make hiring decisions that he thinks give the team the best chance to win.

There were also rumors that PK wanted to go back to the west coast, so keeping PK long term may not have been an option.

Only time will tell how well this plays out, but I trust Sark.

Look.....this is simple....Sark wanted Muschamp from the get go, but Muschamp was too involved with family to take a job back on the field. Kirby really, really wanted Muschamp to be his DC but , again, he did not want to take time from his family. 3 years go by and Sark finds out ( maybe from Muschamp ) that he was now ready to "get back at it" so to speak. Sark hires him and lets PK go. Nothing against PK.....although PK frankly was not all that. His defenses were great when he had Barron and Mukuba....but without them....not so much.PK never seemed to be in charge of the back end of the defense.

That and we never seemed to be able to keep lesser teams from scoring at the end of games. Hell....even aggy gathered some points at the end. That was not ALL on Flood and Sark.

If you EVER have a chance to get coach Boom you fire whoever you have to just to do it.....even yourself.

Heard/read he was also heavily involved in bringing Dallas Wilson to Florida.

Pause for a dream scenario:
Sark hires him as RB asst HC and Jadan Baugh and Dallas Wilson transfer to Texas. #1 WR and #1 RB done.
End dream scenario.
I think there's a good bet the RB portion of this dream happens. Has there been any indication that Wilson may run a fly-route into the portal?

Hearing that Blake Gideon may be returning to Texas as secondary coach.
It doesn't look like this is happening... My thoughts when I heard this was that Gideon would be the secondary coach / "DC in waiting." Muschamp is familiar with the "in waiting" title.

If Muschamp is hired as head coach at Texas... I will throw a virtual temper tantrum so severe that Hornsports will probably ban me.
