Game Week – Georgia at Texas

If you told me Beck would have 0 passing TDs and 3 INTs I would’ve said we killed Georgia.

But we didn’t.

I gotta give credit to the defense. They weren’t perfect but they played very very well.

The O-line and QB? Wtf? Unprepared and got flat out killed. It’s been a long time since we’ve been manhandled. We are in trouble at QB. QE3 was not helped by his oLine but when he had time, he was just flat out piss poor. It’s hard to have confidence in him after two games of below average/poor performance. Wisner was okay but thought this was a game where Blue could shine given his speed and explosiveness.

I’m happy the defense battled. I felt bad for the WR. They weren’t open often but when they were the QBs couldn’t hit em.

Maybe Sark and team should spend less time on ESPN segments and focus on winning games. There was just too much of it this week.

We have a talented squad and can rebound but disappointed in the offesnes’s preparedness. Defense is amazing.

Lots of games ahead but we have glaring issues on offense.

I'm not a big fan of QB controversy, but I think Arch gives this team a better opportunity to win. Quinn is good, but he still can't stretch the field with accurate deep throws and his pocket awareness has not improved in 3 years. Arch is still young and will make mistakes, but his awareness and deep ball is beyond Quinn. If he can learn the underneath game like Quinn, then he will be complete. Plus, he can run. If Texas wants to beat UGA down the road, Arch for a whole game is the way to go, IMO. I mean, what is point in running a zone read with Quinn when the defense knows he won't keep it. UGA collapsed Everytime.

When Texas plays lessor teams (overall talent wise) he is great. When they play a team that matches or exceeds them in overall talent then he is not an X factor. I've seen enough from Arch to know he has it.
Where is the Quinn from Michigan that would create just enough space to throw the ball accurately? He’s a statue back there and doesn’t move his feet anymore. I thought he had taken the next step after that game but now after OU and Georgia I am losing my faith.

Quinn can only execute when the play works perfectly and is just a check down QB now. No one is scared of him in the SEC.

Milroe's threat of running is what kept Georgia blitz and pressure in check.

Manning will make mistakes but overall I think hes a better QB right now.

Ewers makes me cringe. Immobile, plays nervous or happy feet, and deep ball is inaccurate.

Sark is a class act for coming onto the field to plead wmti the idiots to stop throwing bottles on the field. Those fans are embarrassment to the team and The University of Texas .
I was at the game last night at that may have been the craziest, weirdest, strangest event by officials I've seen. The $ec officials are no better than what we had during the Big XII, I apologize for my past criticism of the Big XII refs.

Be that said, bad call or not the students have to act better than they did last night. Their actions were horrible and as 63 stated, an embarrassment.

Ewers and the offense OL last night were bad, no other way to say it.

Spot on! Thank you.
Well, you are forgetting he did beat Alabama AT Alabama last year and looked masterful. He also played very well against Michigan who has 3 possible 1st round draft picks on their defense. He does have some skins on the wall, but I absolutely agree that he played pretty bad yesterday with the OL playing even worse.

You mean our 3 yr starter who heisman trophy candidate? I agree. Rsmber his first yr at Okie lite with 5 ints and 58 % competition for season.

You knew it was coming. Sarks post game presser got a lot of questions about Manning. Sark said Ewers is the starter but wanted to let Quinn reset just for a few drives. He did mention Quinn was upset about being pulled which is understandable. Sark appears uncomfortable with the Manning vs Ewers questions. I get it you dont want the perception of pulling your starter after a few rough series. Manning was a better matchup vs Georgia IMO for a few reasons. Hes mobile and has good speed. Manning looks more confident even as a freshman. Throws a much better deep ball than QE. Hes what 20-30 heavier and taller? QE looks like hes going to break in half when hes hit.

I know QE has played great before but this is the second game in a row where QE has looked terrible in the first half. We cant afford to let GOOD teams take a 23 point lead. Last night the OL played terrible and settled down in the 2nd half but still a mobile QB would have better because the blitzes and PR was is what screwed us. QE had some open targets in both game ousux and Georgia but its like he panics and makes terrible decisions that are not what you expect from the upperclassman QB.

Simply put Manning would have given us the better chance to win under the circumstances. Its not about one player it should be about the team. I am sure there is more to it. Hindsight blah blah. I do know this the future of this team with Manning is very bright.

Edit:
One more note just remember Tennessee beat Bama right before this game. That had to be a massive incentive for Georgia to smack us down. Georgia has head to head vs us and now Bama has 2 losses. So they needed this game but we are not out of it

QE3 just doesn’t read the field well. His mobility in the pocket is maybe the worst in all of the NCAA. So many sacks could’ve been avoided. He is not making the right reads almost ever anymore. Yes Georgia got pressure a lot but if QE3 stepped up or scrambled a little like Beck was doing, he could’ve gotten the ball out. His other throws were short, behind, etc. his other completions any other QB could’ve made.

Give QE3 one last shot against Vandy. If he can’t have a commanding game, it’s time to give it to Arch. But he likely will fool us.

Arch is the better QB now. If QE3 was playing like he did against Michigan, that would be a different story. I think the team especially the skill players on offense tend to prefer Arch because we are way more explosive.

Agree. Arch just brings that confidence and athletic ability. I watched game film break down vs ousux and QE missed so many open reads in the first half. Most of those misses are panics. He either holds on to the ball too long or just panics.

Sarkisian also confirmed that Ewers would remain the starting quarterback:
"Quinn's our starting quarterback," Sarkisian said, per Dave Wilson of ESPN. "I appreciate the fact that we're fortunate enough to have a backup like Arch that can come into the game and provide a spark in some sense, but at the end of the day, Quinn's our starter."

Stats before last night:
Ewers has 691 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions on 58-of-79 passing and a collegiate QB rating of 175.25. Manning has 901 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions on 55-of-78 passing and a rating of 200.49 — oh, and a 67-yard touchdown run.

On another topic, I hope the administration puts out a statement that the bottle throwing incident or any other disturbance of games is not acceptable. As such, violators will held accountable for their actions.

Wow I just can't believe all the negativity. Did some of yall really think Texas would go undefeated in the SEC? This is one loss to a blue blood.
BTW Quinn is still QB1.
Hook'em and F aggy.
Can fans not criticize a team when they don’t play up to their own team standards? Can fans not want more from a team when they know the talent and what they are capable of? It’s not about going “undefeated” it’s about the offense getting bullied the entire game and not playing up to their potential.

I would be most on here are happy with Texas record regardless of the outcome last night, but that doesn’t mean we liked what we saw last night.

On to Vandy Saturday, to send a message.

Well, I'm not exactly Mr. Positivity after 38 yards of offense in first half, OL getting whipped, getting beat by double digits all in view of national TV and in front of a huge number of recruits.

On another note, it's beautiful weather. I caught a lot of fish yesterday on Lake Fork. My health is good. Jesus is my personal Savior and Lord. 😊

I dont get this argument man. What you call negativity and can be reversed and say you are being complacent on obvious issues.

You do realize we had 30 yards of offense in the 1st half? That is not negativity that is an ass whooping. Its not all QE obviously but his mobility is grandma level. No denying it

Quinn has looked horrible the past 2 starts in the first half since his injury. Well he was rusty maybe first quarter against ou

Yes, I think QE had a terrible game. But I still remember the QE who played against Bama, OU and Michigan. There's something wrong, for sure. But we haven't seen the earlier QE since his injury.

Is he snakebit? Not wanting to get hit? I'm not sure. But Sark gets paid mega millions to figure things out like this.

Earlier this season, QE displayed poise, patience, accuracy and he even ran a few times for good yardage. Where did that guy go?

I said this was different than big 12,the SEC is different but we was undefeated with QB that Heisman candidate, so no sense.
