Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

He is not a speedster but I do agree, he could man an effective QB power run game.

The other problem, Sark does not often call designed QB runs.

The other problem, we are already down 1 QB.
I agree with Sark's policy of not calling QB runs unless it's absolutely necessary. A highly trained and skilled QB is the most valuable asset you have on the field, so why would you want to jeopardize their health unnecessarily? We probably lost a national championship because of a called QB run. That's what Red and the wildcat are for.

Wrong some live and die with their emotional attachment to coaches.
you got a point, when they hired Fred Akers, said WHO

when they hired Mack Brown I said WHY

when they hired Charlie Strong I just shook my head

when they hired Jon Mackovic I said NOT HIM

I got caught up in the Tom Herman Hype and was willing to drive him to the outskirts of town

I liked David McWilliams and let my Burnt Orange get the best of me

I like Sark, I didnt want UM but I thought Sark was a great hire, and I still do

Ive lived and died with Texas since 1963, they broke my heart more times than the girls in school

he is 4.68 in the 40, but I bet he is a load to bring down, just like Cam
If out second string runs and gets dinged up, then we only have our third string true freshman. I know our third string was the number one overall recruit, but it is a transition and the more time he gets to gradually learn the better. That said, I would like Arch to get a few snaps, but there are a lot of dynamics that Sark is dealing with.

No. Fans live and die with their emotional attachment to this University. So naturally they want the coaches representing the University to succeed for the simple reason that if the coaches succeed, the University succeeds.

Wrong again. When it becomes obvious a coach is not going to work and when some fans are ready to move on from a coach tons of fans immediately start defending the coach at all cost. Their emotional attachment to the coach becomes more then their love for the university. I see it all the time. It happened with Mack, Strong and even Herman. Hell it was huge with Shaka. When it starts to happen again I will be sure to point it out to you. It will be easy to spot.

So does that mean the “fans” who seem to openly pull for a specific coach to fail are not really fans of Texas but better classified as trolls or sheep herders. No slight to sheep intended.😉
I suspect we have an aggy troll amongst us already

An injury update from TFB...

- QB Maalik Murphy didn't practice on Tuesday and was unable to finish practice on Wednesday, which resulted in QB Arch Manning taking first team snaps, but Murphy is expected to start tomorrow

- OL Christian Jones has a tender ankle and if he can't go, OL Hayden Conner will be moved to RT and OL Cole Hutson will fill in at LG

- DE Ethan Burke is already back practicing after a small procedure, but no word if he'll be able to go

- S Kitan Crawford is described as "doubtful" for tomorrow

Certainly not a doctor but as jacked as MM is, I can't help but wonder if back issues are a problem. Some kids get really ripped like that and lose flexibility. Again, I'm not saying that's a thing here just wondering.

Sounds like we may see Arch sooner than Sark wants.

This is correct. They're worried about the hits he will take. We need a clean game for him.

I'd say there is a 75% chance we see Arch go in. I think KSU is going to come after MM.

Okay fellow Horns, I will be back Sunday. Off to the lease for me.

Good luck ! I’m sure you’ll have a good time. Hard to sleep the night before opening day tho.

Damn. Lots of injuries against a tough team. The loser is out of Big 12 championship in all probability.
Come on Horns !!!!!
