Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

This has nothing to do with being pessimistic. It is reality. The next 4 weeks are going to tell us a lot about Sark. Historical data is clear. year 3 success or lack there of pretty much tells the story for coaches and their future. And again ZFG given in regards to Sark. I do not root for the University of Sark.... I root for Texas. Win or GTFO
Nick Saban was 7-5 in year 3 at Michigan State and 8-5 in year 3 at LSU. Dabo was 6-7 in year 3 at Clemson.

Lets play WHAT IF.....what if Austin Westlake hometown boy Cade Klubnik decided to leave the Clemson dumpster fire before it gets worse, knowing what we know about him and assuming QE leaves as most of you anticipate he will, would Sark be interested
Why would he want to come here and sit behind Arch? Also, if you've watched Clemson this year, Klubnik is part of the problem.

Darrell Royal was 5-5 in his third year as a head coach.

Mack Brown was 1-10 in his second year, 4-7 in his third year, and 1-10 again in his 5th and 6th years as a head coach.

the next 4 games dont tell us about Sark.....it tells us if this team has the stones to rally around their QB2

You know the difference between us and the Alabama, Ohio States and Michigan fan base, they expect to win every game they feel it as an entitlement and a given
Our fan base wants to win every game, but the minute we face some adversity or the media and the bookmakers tell them its going to be a tough game , our fan base goes into there excuse and alibi mode...I think many of us on here said 11-1 or 10-2 admit it we thought those two losses would be at Alabama and OU

So why are we treating KSU like they are gonna run the table and end up in the conference championship, we are #7 and should probably be higher but that was our own fault we had OU beat, do we really think a #25 ranked team is going to beat us at home..I dont

True to a point but I would argue that a significant segment of the Texas fan base has the same entitlement idea about winning every game. Even after nearly 15 years of mediocrity. Hopefully, the current trajectory is real and not a Burnt Orange mirage. 🤘

I guess where I see the disconnect, prior to the season people were talking about our QB succession QE> MM>AM.....it was inevitable our QB1 goes down, and people hit the panic button and say bring in the Golden child....MM has a decent game as QB1, he made a few mistakes but they didnt cost us the game, and people think Arch is just going to walk on the field and start throwing dimes....if he was that good MM would have never seen the field

Results in year 3 are only an indicator of the overall trajectory. Building quality experienced depth in the trenches takes at least four or five years.

Obviously Sark has the team on an excellent trajectory, but I don't necessarily expect Georgia or Alabama type results for at least a couple more years.

If we tell Sark to GTFO, who would we hire in his place?

Not my job to worry about. That is what Eltife and CDC are for. But if you think they are going to allow Sark to go 8-4 etc more then a few more years you are wrong. Sark needs to win. And he is off to a good start this year. Hope he finishes it.

Now do all the coaches who have done worse in year 3.... It is way more then 3 and all have eventually all have been fired...Also You have only named 2 coaches. LMAO.... One is the GOAT. The other had done very well. So you are saying Sark is going to be like Saban? We can all hope.

what Georgia , Alabama, and Clemson did was simple, the recruited SPEED especially on the defensive side of the ball, and they had serviceable offenses that didnt turn the ball over (Clemson was the difference they had Lawrence at QB) Sark and staff are headed in the right direction, they have speed on the offensive side of the ball, and we just might become the cool place for 5* recruits to come to...every time we put a guy into the NFL a blue chipper looks our way
