Herman was 22-13 at this point. (Made it to Arlington in 2018) . Herman after 3 years 24-13

Sark is 20-13 at the same point..Sark after 3 years? TBD

Next 4 weeks should tell us a lot...
Why be so pessimistic? In the first CFP ranking of the year we sit at #7. That's much better than last year. Herman only showed significant progress in year two but regressed. Sark's progression is now in year three.

what I have finally learned after this weekend , we aren't a power running team, we are a finesse running team, we dont blow people off the line of scrimmage , all our lineman need to do is either seal the edge or create a small gap, our backs hit the hole as good as anyone and once they are in the secondary they are great broken field runners
Go back and watch the 4th and goal run where Brooks was stuffed. I’ll tell you what I saw. A finesse run play, not a power run play. Guards and TE pulling. We don’t know if they can blow somebody off the ball because we don’t run plays designed to do just that. BYU filled the gap where the lead blocker was supposed to go and did their job. I want to see a power play on first and goal at the 2. Not some counter play. I believe our short yardage woes fall on Sark. Short yardage, not just goal line. The DL is blowing the plays up when somebody pulls

would going to a slightly wider gap( except on the GL) change that, seems like we could truly run RPO out of a wider set, plus it naturally opens a potentially bigger hole for the back to see, I mean Ohio State has run that for decades and they do ok, easier to trap someone with a wider game, but the downside if you miss your assignment your QB gets racked up

How about a lead? Or an ISO? Hat on hat, double down play side and power run? The times I’ve seen Texas go big they’re outnumbered up front and a quick pass would score easily. LJH jump pass maybe!

Every year Clemson is in the top 5-6 recruiting classes, landing a lion's share of 5-stars.

So why suddenly can they not win? The players? Can't say Dabo, he's the one who brought the program out of the ashes. He took them to multiple national championships.
With that logic, we shouldn't have said Mack/Greg.

I don't know about you guys, but I've seen this before and I'm not buying it yet. Texas is ranked #7 and everyone is talking about this scenario and that scenario to get into the CFP. Until this team shows they can step up, like they did in Tuscaloosa, and take control of their own destiny I will stay apprehensive.

Right now, I'm concerned about what is out in front of them and that is Kansas State. I surely hope the players are thinking the same way I am. This game has me worried. On paper, Texas should win going away, but KST is playing very, very well right now and they are the defending B12 Champs. In fact, I'm more concerned about this game than I was about OU. Ok, I'm done with my concerned rant.

Yea, it's fun and all to discuss scenarios but after the games are played this coming Saturday we will be discussing a whole new set of scenarios. And that will happen on a weekly basis until the season is over.

As far as Texas is concerned, there are only two known scenarios at this time. First, as long as there are at least 4 undefeated teams, we are out of the playoff picture. Second, if we lose another game at any point, we are out of the playoff picture.

Well, I'm just enjoying this season. I'm taking it one game at a time. Win, lose or draw. This could be the best season in over a decade.

This team has deficiencies just like every other team. I'm not sure they are capable of putting it all together and winning it all. What I do know is they are capable of winning any game against any opponent.

Yep, I'm just going to enjoy the ride and hope this is the start of something better than the last 10 years.

Only scenario I see is go 1-0 each week and let the other mess sort itself out. If, If, If Texas wins out AND wins the Big12 championship they will be in the playoff regardless. Texas must go 1-0 each week though.

If there are 4 undefeated teams, then no team with 1 loss will make the playoffs. Including Texas.

However........there has never been 4 undefeated teams in the 9 year history of the playoffs. In fact, only twice has there been 3 undefeated teams and only twice has there been 2 undefeated teams. There has been 1 undefeated teams four times and once there were no undefeated teams.

There have been 14 undefeated teams in the 9 year history of the playoffs and 22 one-loss teams.

Another huge difference is Herman's recruiting completely falling off and failing to address roster needs by the end of Year 4.

He was dead in the water at Texas, plus it didn't help that he endeared himself to nobody with his antics.

He made himself unemployable.

None of that applies to Sark, even though I understand how frustrating it will be if he doesn't make the conference game.

Texas will get in at 1-loss as the Big12 champ….IF they win out each week

This has nothing to do with being pessimistic. It is reality. The next 4 weeks are going to tell us a lot about Sark. Historical data is clear. year 3 success or lack there of pretty much tells the story for coaches and their future. And again ZFG given in regards to Sark. I do not root for the University of Sark.... I root for Texas. Win or GTFO

If we tell Sark to GTFO, who would we hire in his place?

This doesn't make you unique. So does every other real Texas fan.
