I'm often surprised how many people that should know better, get it wrong. Even the Minister of Culture is guilty of this.Nobody in this photo gets the "Hook'em" right.
No, but there’s some double badasses in there !Nobody in this photo gets the "Hook'em" right.
I was taught in 1961 that if your thumb overlapped the two inner fingers, you were doing it wrong. The thumb and two inner fingers should be pinched together to resemble a steer's head.Nobody in this photo gets the "Hook'em" right.
I would imagine by this standard most people get it wrong. In 62 years of life I've never heard this.I was taught in 1961 that if your thumb overlapped the two inner fingers, you were doing it wrong. The thumb and two inner fingers should be pinched together to resemble a steer's head.
So, according to what I was taught, most people get it wrong, but the message is unmistakable. ?

Well, the cheerleader who taught this to me was really, really pretty so she had my undivided attention. ? Personally, I respect any way it's done as long as it's horns up.I’ve never heard this before!!
you are absolutely right, sometimes I think he is trying to flash his hybrid version of Hook em Horns/Hang Loose....and there was one person I saw flash the Hook em with an extended thumb which I think is sign language for I Love You, and I think the hook em with the palm facing toward the person is actually an Italian version of GTFO, or various variations of the gestureI'm often surprised how many people that should know better, get it wrong. when I lived in LV I saw all kinds of longhorn logos on cars, and saw a guy at Costco with a burnt orange shirt with a white Longhorn logo so I flashed him my Hook em Horns and said hook em to him, he says " WTH are you talking about" , I told him you shirt its a Texas Longhorn shirt, come to find out one of the new high schools in the area decided to call themselves the Longhorns and use the logo, and here I thought the LV chapter of the Texas Exes was growing rapidlyWow, try to be friendly, make the wrong hand gesture and insult somebody.
