A heads up on QB Maalik Murphy.

OrangeBloods saying he's gone silent on them when it comes to getting updates, which usually isn't a good sign for a commitment.
Would hate to lose this one. He is a project and by the time he is ready to take the field Ewers will be in the NFL anyway... at least if he lives up to the hype. But 2 QB classes seem to not pan out..

Not good.  If anyone is looking for a comparison.  Ewers finished 6th in Elite 11, Murphy finished 2nd after day three

The film evaluation for Maalik Murphy as a college prospect may seem shaky, as he lacks production and substantial game experience. But if his performance at the Elite 11 Finals suggested anything, his game is littered with untapped potential.

The most impressive physical specimen on site, Murphy displayed one of the strongest arms on the group and surprisingly solid accuracy to pair over the week, also gelling with his receivers and making well-timed tosses. Touch and anticipation for throwing windows should continue to progress as Murphy develops in Steve Sarkisian's offense at Texas, but the Longhorns have everything to work with when it comes to the Gardena (Calif.) Serra product.

It seems kind of crazy that Ewers is getting all kinds of money and Maalik as far as I know isn't getting anything extra.  I wonder if he is looking for a way to change that, if so I wouldn't blame him.

He was a weird take to begin with. Tape is fine but looks small. Seemed like a player we could’ve got later.

Wish him the best. He’s been loyal to Texas and tried to help. If he makes it in I hope he proves me wrong.
I've seen him in person. He did seem too small to me. 6 foot one, 170 sounds like generous measurements honestly.

Although he prob won’t get as much, I can assure you he will get his NIL money. Like the poster said above, may be nothing to worry about just yet.

Maalik, in my opinion, will need a couple of years of development before his ready. Ewers may be an odd dude but he literally checks every box as an elite QB and he has a year under his belt of really good development. He will be ready to go but still suffer some growing pains as a starter. At this point Maalik and Ewers are at a different level from each other. Give Maalik some time with great coaching to harness his skill set and he may be the generational QB. With his personality and larger than life persona he will make more NIL money than he could spend. He’s VY with Brett Favre’s arm. He is a unicorn

Well put, exactly why Texas needs him in the QB room

He literally posted something on Twitter that his next chapter is Texas, no need to start a shart party
When? Don’t see it on his Twitter is all. I tend to agree I’m sure it’s nothing but wouldn’t be surprised by this development is all.
