Personally I wouldnt be concerned with recruiting or Carrington for that matter if Urban eventually lands as HC.  Urban already has taken a lot of Texas HS top talent to the snow lands of Ohio.  One would think Austin would be an easier sell for him.  I am sure we all remember Dobbins and Wilson

if true, this is the problem with our culture, the BMD's shouldn't be going around and doing that kind of stuff. that's CDC's job.

BMDs can do this because, well, they can do this. If CDC did it, it would be unethical. BMDs are also the ones who will cough up the buyout and perhaps part of UM's salary.

BMDs can wine and dine and create relationships, plow the road so to speak.

I have no info on Carrington. Recruiting is at a standstill right now. I'm a little freaked about it right now to be honest. Teams see the opportunity and are trying to take advantage. The WR from Florida . . . I'm surprised he's still in but of course glad he's in.

We need to become a much better team on the field to start any type of momentum, bottom line.

That said, if we happen to lose a HC over the next 14-21 days, a new guy the caliber of Urban Meyer would certainly create a buzz we've not seen for a while.

If it’s urban Meyer they will have a firm deal struck before firing TH. They would have to. Then sign the papers the next couple of days and announce it.

Exactly. BMDs simply hand off the terms of the contract to CDC, who then draws it up gets the signature and makes the announcement.

It may not happen but Texas has the money to pay him. Also all those that will make the decision are all on board... Texas also now has a President that winning football is very important.. If Urban wants to coach again it will be at Texas IMO.

I'm talking about coaching only.  I'm NOT talking about any off campus drama so don't get into that.  Yeah, I know Myer is a POS.

For coaching only, I'd probably go with Dabo but it would be close. I think UM is a very good coach.

Where Meyer fits is that he's run a program similar to Texas in Florida and again at Ohio State. This wouldn't be a trial run like Herman seems to have been.

Urban is good at recruiting, at assembling a good staff, at getting his program on the same page, and so many other things. Dabo is no slouch, but he's no Urban Meyer in those categories. IMO
