*****GAME THREAD - TCU @ #9 Texas*****

Not saying this will happen at all, but what if UT runs the table and goes 9-1?  Does Herman stay if Urban wants to come in?  Or even if he goes 8-2?  Is that enough to give him a pass for this year?

I can tell you one thing, unless he picks it up I would bet Joseph Ossai is coming back for his Sr. year.  Shit, this entire roster might be back, even the Sr. group (including Ehlinger and Kerstetter. I'm kidding, but I kind of dont want Sam to come back.  I love Sam, but I actually feel Casey is a different dynamic and I want to see what he can do.  Can run a lot more zone read with him.

Herman will be back at 8-2.

Can I ask another question? Have you noticed how many Texas players get hurt every week? It seems like we have an extraordinary  amount of players go down every week. Is this just unlucky, conditioning, poor preparation, toughness........what the hell is it? I’d be interested in anyone’s opinion
Not sure about previous years but I believe it can at least in part be due to the lack of sufficient preseason prep. Similar to the rash of injuries in the NFL. I also know that we seem to have more injuries over the past 2-3 seasons at the HS level due to the limitations on contact mandated by the rules changes.

Iowa State headed for 37 OU 30

DONE

I’ve had this conversation with friends. I think it’s a S&C thing. McKnight is great at bulking up but what has he been doing to prevent all of these soft tissue issues? Because it’s been pretty constant every year.

I don't know how we beat OSU, ISU or Baylor with the way we've performed. Duggan is a gutty little QB but he's a LB with a good arm in reality.

OU lost to Iowa State, which of course makes some of this sting go away.

OU will come into Dallas with their backs against the wall. Two losses in a row. A third would knock them out of the Big 12 race and likely send them to the Independence Bowl (Damn, it felt good typing that)

I said several times this off season – no idea how OU was put into the Top 10 with a green QB.

I’m going to throw something out for discussion… For discussion, please don’t kill the messenger.

if we are willing to consider Urban Meyer, we are compromising in certain areas… Right?  How about Bob Stoops? He lives in Dallas, obviously still wants to coach. Not Urban Meyer, but a better coach than Mack Brown.

I think the hate probably runs too deep, both ways. But would any of you who would consider Urban Meyer also consider Bob Stoops?

I thought about Stoops. I would love to see the hate that would bring from that team up north but I think you go Urban because you know he can turn things around quickly and he will recruit the state better than anyone since Mack. But if not him, gotta get a young HC who can bring some more life & innovation to the program.

if the Shaka Smart situation is any indication of the kind of AD that CDC is, he won't eat a Herman contract. I dont like the statistic that TH teams are 2-13 when trailing at halftime, which shows he has not been good at making adjustments to his gameplan ...Herman needs to right the ship, a win vs OU would go a long way in spraying water on those that are ready to sell his house and back up the moving truck...

All Im asking is dont be bandwagon  T shirt fans that are ready to burn down the 40 Acres after a loss. I would like to think we are better than that. If this team continues to play as a poorly coached poorly prepared team , then we can put up the moving signs, and I will even back the moving truck up in the driveway

Do you really think people are reacting to one loss?  Or are you building a straw man that is easy to tear down.

My guess is the later.  Because the former would require an obtuseness that I don’t believe you could possibly possess.
