The Football Brainiacs have confirmed that DE David Abiara of Mansfield Legacy will take a virtual visit to Texas this week.

They had heard that he was going to flip from Notre Dame to OU the weekend that Texas offered, but that never happened.

OU has the better relationship with Abiara at this time, but Texas is making things interesting as they can compete with Notre Dame academically and they're an in-state school.

The virtual visit is thought to be critical.

I have no inside info on this.  However,  It doesn't take much to figure out that kids that grew up in a Longhorn household with a former star Player at UT and a brother on the team right now, and they are STILL undecided?

They ain't coming to Texas - moving on.

Bama WR transfer Tyrell Shavers has committed to Miss State.
Remember his recruitment. He was pretty open, then took one trip to Alabama and fell in love and shut everything down. Never thought he was a fit there however.

Would've been a nice addition IMO.

Man, there has to be some kind of plan at OL that will come up soon, right?

I can't believe how that has gone so far this year. Every other position seems much better. We need Cosmi to be a 1st rounder in the worst way. Get some attention to the group there.

There are a lot of offers out. And I think things will fall into place. However, we are pretty stacked right now along the OL which is something thats pointed out in most every 2020 preview I read. So our advantage on the field right now is our disadvantage on the recruiting trail.

Kids may be willing to sit a year or two or three at a place like Bama. You'll experience a lot of big games there. Texas needs to get to that next level – and sell that to players like the Brocks. You're not just our #1 target. You're going to be part of our program's rise.

Just waiting until 15 June to get some positive momentum on the recruiting front.

This season is going to be weird.  If one kid is diagnosed with C-19 then he will miss a minimum of 2 games (14 day quarantine).  Imagine Clemson missing their QB for 2 games or OU missing theirs.  Gonna be interesting.

Stacked maybe but 15 OL is only three deep with no extras.Since it is 2021 class lose three  and only one commit. Not looking good to me.

A lot of time left and around 12 offers our and a lot are commited else where. And others are leaning else where also. Might be down to checking Bogata Rivercrest before long.

Time for you to hit the recruiting trail, the last two sentences make me want to suit up and hit the field!  The trainers will have to have O2, a stretcher and, possibly, a defib standing by once the field hits back...

In a previous post I said around 12 offers out for OL. According to this site there are 17 orrers out . Eight commited else where. 4 or 5 leaning to other teams.

11offers to TES,

29 offers to WRS.

Where is the staff putting the work?

Some 4 stars and most 5 stars want to start right away. Thats not going to happen at Texas right now. Three years ago, sure.

Makes you wonder how good teams keep the recruiting going. Texas needs to win consistently and have players drafted by the NFL. Herman has done neither in Austin. These things have to change this year.

@Sirhornsalot Your are proably tight. However I doubt if freshmen OL start a t Alabama, Ohio St, or any one else that is out recruiting Texas right now.

Hopefully the staff knows something we dont.

Since Brown left freshmen start if good enough.
