2. Texas A&M is hotter than Texas on the recruiting trail.

Farrell’s takeFACT. I like what A&M is doing recently and some big commitments are on the way such as

Romello Brinson
and others from outside the local recruiting territory. Texas continues to face issues with Tom Herman being on a bit of a hot seat. The Longhorns will get theirs and might even finish higher than the Aggies in recruiting in the end with a good season, but right now I hear more about A&M.

Gorney’s takeFICTION. It might seem that Texas A&M is gaining some steam on the recruiting trail, but the numbers just don’t prove it and Texas still is in better shape right now. The Longhorns are four spots ahead of A&M in the early 2021 team recruiting rankings and in two of the previous three classes, Texas was ranked higher.

There are two issues: Texas has recruited well (top-four classes in 2019 and 2018) and yet don’t have much to show for it on the field; and there’s at least a decent chance out-of-state programs are going to raid the state of Texas for top talent this year. This includes five-star OL

Tommy Brockermeyer
, who is a Texas legacy but Alabama is pushing very hard. In terms of just recruiting, Texas A&M is doing an impressive job, but Texas is still slightly better

LaTrell Neville has decomitted from Va Tech. Texas is listed as one of the five schools he's now interested in,  although he's just been Fonged to Nebraska.

I have no idea if this is true or not, but from all the reading ive done it sounds lile Texas wasn't / isn't really pursuing him.  They just need to go full steam ahead on Alexis, Johnson Jr, Harmon, and Jackson and get 2 of them (possibly 3), imo. I like Alexis a lot and Johnson has the natural speed you can't teach.  Harmon seems like a really hard worker with a great frame and seems to genuinely love Texas and was humbled by the offer.  K. Jackson will be special and I hope they're able to land him.  Not to keen on him going to TCU.

Its true. And Texas is not kicking the tires here. Sounds like he's headed to Nebraska.

He used to be a consensus 4-star, but has dropped down to a mid-3-star now.

Texas is talking to Tyrell Shavers, who is shopping around after a year at Bama. He's from Lewisville (where I live) and was a high 4-star back when. However, word is that Miss State is the emerging leader for him. The Pirate is going to put MSU on the map in the SEC. Saban is going to learn to hate that man.

This is going to be the biggest kick in the nuts on a recruiting miss in probably forever.  What a joke.

I hate it, but if they don't want to be here, I don't want them here. Move on to the next prospects.

Well, it does suck, but I agree with SHA.  I wish more Texas kids wanted to stay home and keep the talent home, but Texas needs to show something this year and I think they will.  I thought they were too young to live up to expectations last year.  F'em, move on.

Bama WR transfer Tyrell Shavers has committed to Miss State.

I would assume Herb Hand and the whole staff has prioritized both the Brockermeyer’s to the fullest extent. Dad played here. They grew up Texas fans. Close to home. Great facilities. Hot Chicks.... etc etc etc...... So if they don’t choose to come here, I just don’t think anything would have changed that.
