Texas DB’s John Bonney and Eric Cuffee announced they would be transferring Tuesday afternoon.

Bonney, a redshirt senior, played in 37 career games with 15 starts.

Cuffee, a redshirt sophomore, had yet to appear in a game for the Longhorns and will enroll at Trinity Valley Community College.

I kind of thought Cuffee would be a transfer candidate.  Seems as though Cook and Green are moving up the charts.  Also hearing good things about Boyce.  There is one name I haven't heard too much from and that's Thompson.  Anyone have a clue how he is doing?

He’s likely to be the backup behind PJ Locke at Nickel.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Toneil Carters name pop up as a transfer.  The way Ingram is surging and if Johnson stays healthy, Carter reps will be way down.  Not to mention his fumble issues.

Cuffee transferring isn’t shocking at all. Bonney though is surprising considering how late in the game he opted to Transfer and that he likely would have contributed in some capacity. Likely means one of the young safeties is going to see a bump in PT or was already line to do so.

Agree about Carter.  Bonney suprises me though.  Thought he would see lots of playing time this year.

It would take a ton of maturity and patience, not easy to muster at 22, for a fifth year senior with tons of skins on the wall to have to sit and watch a true freshman take his job before ever playing a game.

Tech already announced Bonney as a new addition.

How can this all happen within one day?

It sounds as though conversations were had with TT prior to today.

Wish him the best. It would seem he was a little worried about PT this year. Sounds like some other kids were making some noise.

Tech returns all their secondary players from last year. Not sure where Bonney will fit in there.
