Tennessee has reportedly made Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy its primary target and may have already interviewed him for the position.

I would think OSU will do what they need to do in order to keep Gundy in Stillwater - could simply be a way for Gundy to get himself a raise just in time for Christmas.

Rumor was he declined Florida already as well. He just lookin for a raise

I actually could see Gundy taking the job in Tennessee especially if they offer him $6 million or more plus other incentives .  I think he would be a great fit and he could get the Vols moving in the right direction if given time.

I would think the talent pool for recruits would go up. Just the name and SEC helps. He gets mostly scrubs at okiestate that couldn’t make OU or UT. Also him and Boon Pickens have been at it for years. Boom isn’t the biggest fan of gundy. I personally think he has done a hell of a job with a program that was always a shit show before his time.

Per the sportanimal here is oklahoma Gundy is in a meeting right now as we speak talkin about the UT job. Like I said he already turned down Florida and OSU is his almater but I wouldn’t blame him to get the heck out of dodge. There gonna be WAY down next year that’s a fact

With all the Coaching changes in the SEC  and many of the programs being down ,  Gundy could roll into the job without having to play catch up since many of the SEC teams are in the same situation so to me it would be perfect timing.  The job in Florida would be more high pressure  where Tennessee will be just happy to make it to a bowl and have 8 or 9 wins a season for right now.

I agree MCTMATT with you , but with teh Tennesee fan base give him the time that he needs?  That is the question

Shit-show is harsh, but historically Okie State has been a springboard for bigger & better things. Just ask Jimmy Johnson & Les Miles.

Per Wikipedia so it has to be real right???

Jim Stanley 35-31 record

Jimmy Johnson 29-25 record

Pat Jones 62-60 record

les miles 28-21 record

Gundy 109-51 with .68 win %

Lastly since I was born ( so all I can vouch for 1990- yougin) I know... before Gundy took over they had 4 winning seasons... just 4.... then he took over I’m 2005 and things started lookin up..... I’d say that’s a shit show??? Kinda like Texas football the last what 8 years lol unfortunately.

Reportedly turned down a 6-year, $42 million deal.

Should have offered him $48 million for 6 to at least make Boone spend some of his money.
