Since we are talking salaries, I heard today that with Saban's escalating salary in a couple years he will be the highest paid coach in the country, including NFL. Winning makes you rich.

If Haley is having this much trouble deciding, then he should just go. UT needs coaches that really want to be there..............just like the recruits.

Don't do it, UH.

You'd be much better off promoting one of your coordinators - Applewhite or Orlando - or hiring another spread operator like Tulsa's Montgomery or OU's Riley. IMO, they shouldn't recycle Les Miles either. Go with a younger guy who'll bring fresh energy and commitment.

I dunno seems like a good spot for him, unless he's terrible, which is possible. I never liked that guy, forget it.

They'd be better off hiring this guy:

I realize alot of people loved haley with his Louisianna ties but our DL or lack of was one the biggest contributers to a shitty defense.

Haley was demoted at LSU as well before we hired him.

He may be a great recruiter but I wasnt impressed with our DL play at all.

A couple of funny lines in this article.

Texas A&M University President Michael Young said football coach Kevin Sumlin had "by far the best record of any coach who has moved a team from a less-challenging conference to a more-challenging conference."

Sumlin has his complete support except he can't say he will be the 2017 coach. Aggie logic at it's finest.

In an interview with Texas Tribune CEO Evan Smith, Young said that "Kevin Sumlin is our coach and has my complete support and our athletic director's complete support."

That prompted a follow-up from Smith: "So he will be the coach next September?"

"Kevin Sumlin has my complete support," Young repeated.
